Surge by roots organics is it bad?!?!?

Hey all been a real long time since I have been on at least a couple years I feel like.. However have a quick question for the roots users.. Just switched from canna to roots and aact. So cracked open the surge for first time and there was a think jelly like almost build up on top.. Is this normal or possibly was seal broke and it spoiled.. Any feedback is much appreciated.

you have to really shake the hell out of that stuff as it's just blended up fish and kelp. i always shake the hell out of it by bashing it against my hand while shaking it. It should have a slightly sweet smell to it. if it smells like fermented death its gone bad.
