Howdy Doo fellow Rollit-uppers. This my 4th grow but my first journal so hopefully I do this right.

Strains: -G13 Labs Super Skunk (6-8 weeks Flowering)
-World of Seeds Afghan Kush (7-9 weeks Flowering)

Soil: Miracle Grow Organic

Nutrients: Bone Meal (6-9-0) Alaska Fish Emulsion (5-1-1) Alaska Mor-Bloom (0-10-10) / SuperThrive

Lights: 8 - 42 watt CFL's (2700k) & 4 - 23 watt CFL's (2700k)

The clones were transplanted into their permanent homes yesterday. The pots are roughly 1 gallon. 3 are slightly smaller, 2 quarts I think. All plants are from clones. 4 Afghan Kush and 5 Super Skunk. Im going for a SOG style grow. Either trimming clean the bottoms to focus on the tops or do a staggered harvest, cutting the main buds and letting the bottom buds go for 2-3 weeks more. I plan to veg them for about 2-3 weeks and harvest at 8 weeks flowering. Plenty of pics will be posted later this afternoon, showing the mothers and "the girls". Stay Tuned !

Ph- 6.8

Temp-About 82 F

Humid-between 25 and 32

Howdy Guys ! Sorry Im late with an update but my cam was "misplaced". OK....The "girls have been in 24/0 Veg since Feb. 28. They have been steadily grasping life by the horns and are growing well. Still not much to see. Im hoping to stick to watering on saturday and feeding on wedensday but schedules never really work in the canna-biz. Last night, they were fed. For veg Im using 2 tablespoons/gal. of Alaska Fish Fert and 1 tablespoon/ gal. of Alaska Morbloom with a lil superthrive. Bonemeal is amended into the bottom half of the soil, so it has time to activate and the plant can use it later in life. Here are the pics... the clones before transplanting, the mothers, and the "girls". BTW...the dates on the pics are totally wrong.

Sup Rollit-uppers. Last night while strolling the aisles at walmart for munchies, I stopped to pick up a timer. The previous one recently died out, It was a nice digi and everything. This is the one I picked up...cause it was the cheapest... probablly not the best move but we'll see. The timer was $4.44 :-P. And has 1 ON/OFF setting Per Day.

Also Hears a lil more info on the strains Im using

G13 Labs Super Skunk

Sex : Feminized

Type : Indica / Sativa

Flowering : Photoperiod Genetics : Skunk #1, Afghani hash

Flowering Time : Medium Outdoor Harvest : Unknown

Height : Tall THC Level : High

Characteristics : Intense High

G13 Labs Super Skunk was one of the first serious projects to create a next-level cannabis hybrid by crossing the groundbreaking Skunk #1 with an ancient, pure-bred, highly resinous Afghani hash plant. In 1990, Super Skunk was released to great acclaim. Flowering is between 45-50 days and produces a medium yield

World of Seeds Afghan Kush

Sex: Feminized

Race: Pure race obtained from Afgani Kush zone

Genotipe: Almost 100% Indica

High: Less than 1.5 m indoor/ until 2 meters outdoor

Harvest time: 45-55 days indoor/average October outdoor/pollitano

High tolerancy to frequent irrigation and fertilization

Yield: Over 400 gr per m2 indoor/ 500 – 600 gr per plant outdoo

Medicinal value: High (for its high content in CBD). Excellent like antiemetic and antispasmodic

Smell: Hashish.

Flavour: Fruitysweet.

Effects: Very narcotic, almost devastator

THC Level: 21.6% measured upon the rest of cannabinoids. 7.4% measured upon the rest of organic substances belonging to buds like: aminoacids, sugars, terpenoids, vegetal hormones, and cannabinoids (determined by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry)

Come from montainous sistem of Hindu Kush (north of Afganistan).
Another pure landrace indica Kush, grows wild in the valleys of Armu Darya , river that border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It’s a variety very stable (almost 100% indica) and probably has been the fruit of successives crossbacks between wild varieties Kush since the diferents races Kush, grow nearly itself in a geographic zone relatively reduced.

Powerfull, smells like the best afgani hashis,we can consider a very valuable like a medicinal chemiotype.

FLOWERING: WEEK 1 :weed:

Estimated Harvest : May 7, 2010

pH: 6.5

Humid: 38 %

Howdy RI-Uppers. Today is the end of the first week of flowering and as i predicted, Cutting the veg time was smart, they have already begun to get a bit crowded. Luckily I plan doing some pruning in the upcoming week. I'll be removing the lower 1/3 of all the girls to focus on the colas and smaller canopy buds.

The Gnats are still present. They have not multiplied but i still catch a few here and there. Ive been killing all of the adults I see, but I know they have been laying eggs so Ill have to get some sand soon or they will become a problem. This is my first time having gnat probs....Usually i have Spring-Tails or ...uuugghhhh...spiders :???:  ....nothing worse than sitting there closely examining your buds only to turn over a leaf and see quarter sized spider... :cuss: .....

The pics are not the best of quality ( as they all will be until i get a new cam :finger:) but this shows them earlier today.

BTW, Comments are totally welcome from anyone following the show.

Ph: 6.5

Humid: 51 % (little to high)

Temp: 78 F

Howdy guys...and gals  .Today is about 1.5 weeks of bloom and the girls are looking great. One of the little kush plants got pressed up against a side light and burned a few leaves but she'll make it. I did a lil more lower branch pruning as well. Basically removing anything that does not yet have pistils or calyxes yet. All of the girls higher bud sites have flowers already. Im hoping to be done with that by 2.5 weeks bloom.

I was noticing that I had not really gave much info on my lighting setup, which in all honesty I think could be better, but I have to work with what I can.

As you can see in the pics Im using the old 3 y-splitter design, that is ever so popular with us CFL'ers, In 6 ft. clamp sockets. On the side lights, I use extension cords with a plug-in light socket on both sides and the mount it horizontally. Dont know if im the first to do that but I think is pretty good. I placed a mesh screen over the side lights so the plants can get close but not burn...But they still get a lil too close at times.

Im Using 8 - 42 watts (top) in the 2700k spectrum and 4 - 23 watts (side) in the same spectrum. 428 watts and 28,000 lumens....I know I know...I could have gotten an HPS, but at this time I dont have the proper ventilation for one so NAH :-P, lol. The reflector is basically taped together bits of carbboard wrapped in foil with the dull side facing out (GHETTO), But I do notice a difference in how Illuminated the area looks with it on compared to when its off, so it must be working.

It was more of a bat wing shape but I added more cardboard to get a 4 side shape. Im actually kinda proud of it, ahaha. Btw, the girls were fed today. roughly 12-21-21 (NPK). I plan on working some more bone meal into the top soil as well, should bring it to like 18-30-21, pretty decent for flowering IMO. Well guys, only a few more days till the week 2 Update, should be able to get some good pics of forming buds, until then enjoy these couple of shots of random pistils. Peace :leaf:

Sup Hero! Thanx for the props man. This actually the first time growing this strain but its doing great. They are few day under 2 weeks flower and the buds are starting to form nicely.

As far as the light setup, ur right. SMB's book is what I based my whole operation on , and still use alot of what I learned from that book. A MUST READ FOR CFL GROWERS IMO !!

Howdy Howdy Howdy. Just thought Id give a lil update to explaine a change Im gonna be making. I just read a thread called "The Lost Art Of Foliar Feeding" <<<<< Link. I just so happened to have a VARY large box of the nutes used in the thread so, I decided Ill give it a shot. Starting tomorrow Ill be foliar feeding along with my regular nutrient schedule.

This is my foliar feed mix:

1/2 teaspoon Miracle Gro Bloom Booster 10-52-10
2 drops of Super-Thrive
1/4 teaspoon Epson Salt

The girls will be heavily misted once every day until week 4 of flowering. Supposedly it incrases bud size and improve growth overall...We'll see
