Super Cropping?

I have been using clips but was told to just bend them over and cut the end off.

Some ways this sounds all well and good but ???

I have been Topping then Super Cropping, use the clips and do just fine, yes they come out and go up.

Actually I have some might Super Crop again because of height.

And way I understand is there is a line between having more or having less the more you mess with them.

I just gently pull the highest tops over and tie them to a lower point on the stem.

The end will start to grow up again but instead of one large bud, the lower bud sites will also start to grow up.

The end result harvest wise is the same but with an even canopy...

Maybe even a bit better because you can keep your lights a little lower and more of the plant will benefit from the light...

OK if I didn't put clips on the plant would try to straightened out so I started using clips. I'm happy with this.

Went to a Grow Shop and asked about clips. The guy said he don't like them. He is saying he will bend it down and cut the end off.

I'm seeing where this is going. When you cut it you will have more stems grow out that end but I'm thinking this will put more stress on the plant than needed.

I love using the clips, keeps everything nice and tidy and a very even canopy..

Mine are Red makes them like I decorated them.

You would be surprised at how much "stress" a plant can handle

I don't see the need "to cut the end off", just bend it/them over and let it be.

Once you get over your reluctance to mess with the normal growth of a plant, the world opens up to possibilities.

One of these methods is lollipopping.... As you progress towards flower you remove the bottom third bud sites. They won't amount to much anyway, why not let the plant concentrate on producing larger top buds..

I recently grew some Sativa's that can get very tall. In order to contain them I installed a wire hoop @28" and as the tops grew past it I bent them over and tied them to the hoop. And continued to do that as they grew..

This is a Double Chocolate > there is approximately 18" of horizontal growth.

This is what I have now.

From my understanding Lollipoping good for circulation but what I'm Reading it will make growth taller.

Topping and Super Cropping will keep it shorter.

OK these plants have been Topped and Super Cropped using Clips, they have went out and then up.

Wondering if I should let go unless they get too close to the Light or go ahead and Super Crop again? They are blooming.

what if the outer surface splits open on the sides where its folded? ever still have it bounce back? last time i thought that topped it as it died or it was too top heavy.

Happens quite often during supercropping. The tear will knuckle over in a few days and eventually turn a little off-white. But the branch will still grow as normal.

I have had a small branch fall right off the main stem and I still was able to save it.

If you don't repair it wouldn't it just grow two stems?

Yep, the plant is very resilient

No ... you don't get a second stem if you tear the skin when you bend a branch. Depending on the severity of the tear, you might not even have to do any repairs. The branch should still grow normally.

But if the bend almost breaks the branch in 1/2 then it would be best for you to try and return the branch as close to it's original position as possible and secure it with something like duct tape or pipe cleaners for a few days.

Either way, the tear in the skin or the near break will eventually knuckle up and the plant will carry on.

I can show you a small plant that survived both.

it was outdoors, maybe it damped off or bent over 90 degrees for too long. ghouse. great info yall, thanks! handy trick, im a fan of it.
