It is time for the pine. :weed:

Time to get back to the roots of it all. The skunk, the pine, and the gas. The holy trinity. I'm dating myself, but there was no berry weed when I was a kid. You never knew the strain either. If you did, the dude was making it up.

You asked for a bag of weed, that's what you got. Dude asked how much you wanted, that was it. It was either skunk, gas, or pine. The earthy kush was non existent in my small circle.

Now I'm looking for those terps and effects of those years, as I'm sure anyone who smoked these strains then would be. If you don't know first hand, you soon will. My search led me to a few flips of hope, and a man with a plan.

I’m down! I remember the first time I learned I was smoking ‘Northern Lights’ back in the ‘90’s and was dumbfounded that weed had names. Like f’real? Who knows what we actually were smoking, but that stoney, piney high of yesteryear is something we’re all chasing. I for one, am here for it….:blsmoke:

Welcome to another episode of weed Berenstein Bears.

We all remember weed being skunk, chronic, dank, kind.

Kind of like we remember it being spelled Berenstein Bears.

But when you look at one of those books now it says Berenstain Bears.

And we're like "WTF? I swear it was Berenstein."

But no it was really Berenstain all along.

Are we just chasing a pipe dream/urban legend/snipe hunt?

Are we confined to an eternal hell of crappy, chemical laden, fruity, licorice, moth ball scented low/mid weak AF modern day weed 4ever?

If I didn't live through it, and smoke that sweet piney stoney herb every waking moment of my life until I had to quit for work, I would say it was just a myth too. It's there, I know it is. I will find it. Then I will spread it to every corner of the globe until weed is weed again.

But you haven't found it so far right? It looks like you've been growing for a little bit. I"m only on my second grow and I know for a fact that first grow with those "well-regarded brand" autoflower was not that shit I used to smoke. So I've been on a hunt for that old school ever since. It's really weird what happened to the weed game. I'm really disappointed in todays quality of weed. It's like if weed was like alcohol they literally removed all the good shit from the market like the Jagermeister, VSOP Cognac, Grey Goose, and replaced it with Natural Light and Bud Light.

I did have it. 6 years ago. I had a white widow I crossed with an ak-47. One pheno was piney gas, the other was grapefruit surprisingly. Those two would put me on the couch in a stupor for a few hours. I got really sick, and needed a ton of surgeries. I was in the hospital for almost a year. By the time I got out, all my shit was dead and gone.

I will find it again, because I know it's out there.

It's a damn shame what has become of the weed market. It's time to start knocking off those anheiser bushes with some stony melt you into the furniture herbal medication

By this point I'm so starved for good weed that I'm down to drive through the hood and south LA to see if anyone still sells chronic over there. 20+ years ago chronic weed was all over LA/Long Beach grown by the homies and gangsters. Some of these large gangsters/growers became legit and turned into dispensaries. I wouldn't be surprised if many dispensaries in LA are financed through gang money. But I would be really surprised if these very same people also stopped smoking the good chronic that used to be so prevalent and switched over to dispensary weed.

I hear ya. I'm on the right path, that's for sure. My strains are starting to touch me. People that sample them say it's the best around, but that doesn't mean shit to me because everything around me is garbage.

I was going to wait on this until I got the train rolling a bit more.... as I said, my journey brought me face to face with some old strains I haven't heard from in quite some time. White Rhino, Crippy, Pine Tar Kush, Creeper, NL (real one, not some knock off reproduction done by some schmuck in an alleyway adjacent to the Costco)

My journey also brought me to a few like minded individuals who were already walking the same exact trail. Spreading the genetics, and the burden/time of testing these strains indoors and out creating a sub community that spans 4 forums and 3 continents. By my count anyways, math is not my strongest mental component.

The gentleman's handle is @OriginalDanKmaster96 I believe his account here is @TheOriginalDankmaster .

I'll be working his crosses over the summer, and I'll invite him on here to say a few words once things get going on my end. The end game is to organize a community grow with an f2 of one of his creations to help spread the word. The strain will be his choice, and I'll make a seperate thread for the sign up and community grow after I clear it with the powers to be.

I'm sure @curious2garden will be there to guide me away from any cliff, always appreciated btw.

We're going to Crack open the cripxmas A2 fems first so we can get a few outside, and work through 4 or 6 to see what kind of variations we get.

We'll also have the pleasure of having Mr DankMaster himself right here along to way to point out any fuck ups, or just slap us in the grill with some general crippy/corn/cripxmas/island crippy/Maui knowledge.
