Here's some Sugar Candy, from Delicious Seeds, growing in a Walmart portable closet, 1.5'x3'x5'. I bought a 240w CXB high bay and took the reflector off and mounted it on the top, after making a cardboard strengthener inside the top and cutting a round hole through both the fabric and the cardboard. Also I installed a 4" PC fan over a hole on one end of the top, and put a square of carbon filter for air purifiers on it, cut to size and held on by plastic clothespins on the corners. Also a second one hanging by its wire in one end from a hook I screwed through the cardboard, for more air movement. Both run off one 12v adapter of about 1000 ma output, from an old computer peripheral, a router I think.
Grow medium is perlite in plastic storage containers. They hold about 2 gallons. I can fit 3 such containers into a larger container which is almost 3' long and 18" wide but can just fit in there. It's the kind of container that's clear, has a lid and is used for storing stuff under a bed. I don't need the lid. Nutrient solution is watered by hand and drains out holes in the front about 1/2" up, to keep a small reserve of water in the bottom between waterings, which are usually daily but can go 2 without problems. I reuse the perlite indefinitely by pulling out most of the roots. What roots are left help retain water in the medium, almost like peat/perlite mix.
Had to put some metal rails (3' shelving supports) across the bottom on top of the plastic "feet" of the closet, on each end, to support the container. I put roller wheels under it so I can move it around if I want.
Since light can penetrate through the white fabric, I had to cover it on the outside completely with mylar emergency blankets. I tried it on the inside but it was too harsh on the plants. It's actually better reflecting it back through the cloth. On the front, the mylar is a flap that I can raise for access.
This is at 4 weeks. A few leaves on front got browned but nothing serious. I had to top them at 2 weeks due to crazy growth. It's 12 plants, 4 in each of the 3 containers. Seems to be just right. I had topped them while in veg also. As you can see, so tightly packed that they stick their leaves straight up. I cut the tips off some of the large leaves to reduce shading. I can't tell you what it yields because this is the first high density crop and with this strain. Should be pretty solid though. Had to tie a piece of yellow plastic twine across the front between the support bars to hold the plants from flopping out. I can slide it up and down the bars as needed.
