250w is weak.

You need heat in your grow room.
This must be atleast about 20celcius+ average. with or without light anyway.
Lights on 22+ minium
Lights off 18+ minium

24-26+ lights on is optimal .

There is strains also that like warmer and colder

If the isolating is bad done, then the roof shows this quick
Normal isolating dont show one simple grow.

Usually this takes big grows to be noticed from a helicopter one cold frosty day.
About 4x1000w atleast

anyway just use christmas lights if this is needed.
You can have it 1dec to last february on the roof.
this time period covers most flower time. ( when you need light most )
Let them shine

No one minds a roof with 10 euro christmas light 120x led or whatever on the roof even frosty days.
Maybe without it can be problem.
Melted roofs frost times is cannagrow warning absolute

Yeah my grow tent is small its just 60cmx60cmx140cm and I'm growing autoflowers so I think I'm just gonna do 24 hours of light so I'm hoping that there is enough heat from the light

A simple thing you can do is add an oscillating fan to where the heat is extracted to, assuming your venting the heat into the same attic. That way your mixing all the air rather than having one area which is hotter, spreading the heat around. If snow melts then its not in one spot and it looks like you have a poorly insulated house.

Well what I was gonna do was put the vent into the chimney as the chimney brrasy has a hatch that opens think that might be best bet

You shouldn't mess around with a chimney unless you know exactly what you're doing because you can damage yourself and everybody you love if you guess wrong, you can believe me or not but I used to be a heating technician

You hear about whole households being lost but smaller leaks that make everybody sick for months or even years don't make the news, if they are discovered at all?

Consider using the heat in your grow area, it's just a small light to begin with so it's not going to cause much heat, likely not noticeable at all an open area, good luck

It's an old chimney it is not used anymore, it used to be used for an old coal fire but is blocked up now where the fire used to be

Well that's what I do and have always done. So you wont have any heat sig if your removing the heat like that.
Only a luke warm chimney pot.

I would smoke test it unless you know for sure its not been capped off.

I don't need to remove any bricks it have a metal hatch already built into it I'm just gonna open it and put the ducting into it
