stupid knats

hey im new here :mrgreen: i am having a problem with gnats. these little bastards are always hanging out around the soil. someone told me that they dig down and can mess with your roots? i was wondering how to get rid of them. do those electronic noise emitting thing work? anything i can put on soil to make them leave that is safe.

Yes they can damage your roots and it isnt so much the gnats but their larvae. In order to get rid of them try one of many of the natural remedies. id try to steer clear of chemicals.

I had a problem with knats and it was because I was overwatering and it was too humid in the grow room. This was what I did and it got about 99.9% of them.

1. Only water when the soil is almost completely dry.
2. Put white paper over the top of the soil. Prevents light from reaching the soil and stops fungus from growing.
3. Get a fly strip. I put one of these sticky bad boys near the bottom and BAM!!! Within a week, there was at least 10 on there.

Could try some of the spider mite remedies as well. Many insect cures work for multiple types. Come to think of it I am probably going to put a bug lamp in my stealth.

flies and bees dont do shit do they? Alot of those hang out in my shack area where i grow. Not cool.

Bees want nothing more than your plants pollen. As long as there are no males for the bees to cross pollinate with i dont see an issue. and flies destroy anything.. get some mantises
