Stretch

I was wondering if there is ever a time you would want to stretch your plants. I was getting ready to try and stretch my plants ( before I found out 8 out of 9 were male) But I would like to throw out this thought to see if it has any merit. My plants were about 18" tall and really dense. The light would not penetrate through the plants to get to the inside bud sites so I thought if I try to stretch them I could get more distance between the nodes to let more light in. What do you all think good idea or crazy Milk Man? The plants were about 6 weeks old and I have room for a 4 foot tall plant.

You deprive them of light and put it way too high above so the stretch for it.

The plant will naturally stretch during the first 2 weeks of flowering... they stretch just fine IMO too.. i would leave them be :D

It's best to keep your lights as close as possible without causing heat damage to the plants. Purposely streching your babies is the last thing you want to do. You may want to thin out just a few of the huge fan leaves (not alot of them) to allow more light to pass through to the lower branches. In my own experience, when you switch over to the Flowering Cycle (12/12 lighting) the internodal branches will strive to be about the same height as the top cola.
Just let the plant stretch its natural length when the time comes.(Flowering)
