Stretch during late flowering

Hello fellow growers.
Noob grower, first time poster here.

I have my second autoflower during late flowering:

Strain: Gorilla cookies auto
Breeder: FastBuds
The breeder gives a 10 week flowering (haven't figured out if it is from seed or since first pre-flowers).

Right now it is on 13th week since sprout
Up until early week 12, the bud growth seemed normal in terms of shape and fattening rate, although a bit slowly maturing (unfortunately i didn't keep any pics from then).
During late week 12 and afterwards, bud tops started stretching in a way it seemed unusual (to me).

From what i read online, I assumed that flowering is slower because of the phenotype and thus switched light schedule to 12/12 to help it flower.

Is this growth behavior normal?Should i worry?

Thnx in advance :)

It's an auto with some photo period genes. Run her like a photoperiod plant under 12/12.

It is quite strange to see such a shift in flower. Almost like its hormones are all messed up.

Doing the right thing by running it 12/12. Hopefully that sorts her out. Good effort for a first grow tho!

That many white hairs means its still got way to go, but a bit hard to see clearly with the lighting.

I only have one auto before that so not much to compare, but it definitely looks strange.
Almost all buds stretched in every direction.
I wish for a positive impact on yield :)

Thnx very much :leaf: .

Thnx for the advice.
Lower bud sites have been browning faster since 12/12 switch and tri-chromes started blurring as well.
Newly stretched branches are still full white haired.

It messed my schedule as well as I planned to flush the girl for the last 2 weeks but right now i am a bit puzzled if it needs more food to cope or i should keep up with original flushing plan and hope the plant catches up and matures uniformly.

Looks/sounds a bit unusual for sure. I can add that having grown this variety twice, it is not a 10 week plant. I harvested one at 95 days or so. I have another that is now around day 110 with a little time still to go. These have been under 20 hours of light the whole time. Breeders estimates are always “hopeful” in my experience. Two pics below of my two recent gorilla cookie plants for reference. The tall one is still alive, 110 days old. The wide one I chopped in the mid-90 day count. Interesting plant. Also, forget flushing, especially trying to predict two weeks before harvest, which is hard to determine. Most/many here have found flushing unnecessary. Research articles back this up. I don’t flush any more. Buds taste great, atleast when grown and cured well. Good luck!

Thnx very much for sharing your info. Good job on those plants. So much more massive than my girl :leaf:.
Sadly the reseller i got the seeds from mentioned 10 weeks as full cycle. Actual situation was far from that.
Anyway she's on day 93 and still has some way to go. I resumed feeding and things are getting browner already.

I wasn't aware of this approach. I had in mind flushing is a good thing, maybe not 2 as i planned to do, but at least the last week (suggested also by the nutrient schedule).
I will look into it. Thnx again :leaf:

I grew 10 of these this summer . 2 of 10 were very nice phenos . Didn’t yield as high as others , but insanely frosty , amazing terps etc . Mine took 3.5 months to finish . The other 8 phenotypes “all 10 were different “ went to biomass . A few had some weird growth , lots of calyxes - no herm/nuts , just an abnormal look to the buds .

This was my last fast buds grow , and was the main factor in me switching to SRS , and nightowl.

that being said , they do have some fire genetics , it’s just the variation is too wide for my liking . I suggest a 60x scope , and just monitor trichomes till it’s ready.

Probably more worth our while to run their FF versions so you can find a keeper. There’s a few phenotypes of fastbuds stuff I’ve grown which was very special

Thnx very much for your input.

This seed was a freebie from my order so i gave it a try cuz i wanted something fast until my photos get ready. If i new it would take that long i wouldn't have bothered. Also not something i would order by myself.
Not saying smth about the breeder, just that i have a couple of breeders that i trust and i plan to grow their stuff, at least at the beginning.
Despite it's flowering abnormalities, it was growing smooth up to that point. Reacted very good in early LST (a few bends to keep it low) and has formed pretty fat buds.

Anyway, she's on day 100 and counting.
I have spotted a few brown trichromes already on some bud sites but the new little bud branches are far behind. I guess i will use these older spots as a harvest indication.

Thnx for the suggestion. I might give them a try some time again in the future ( i think i have one more freebie from them).

Cheers :leaf:
