Heres one which we can probably never know the real answer to but interested in peoples opinions.
I germinated my CBD auto seeds in jiffy pellets. They germinated quick in under 48 hours. The idea with jiffy pellets if you are not familiar with them is they are a dried pellet you soak in water and they swell up and house the seed. They have a net around the pellet that the roots easily break through once in the final pot.
WIth autos i know its not great to transplant, but with the jiffy pellets once the seeds germinate you put the whole swollen moist pellet in the final pot avoiding any root stress.. Thats all very well, but.... I was planning on doing this, after 3 days i had the plan to do this, a few hours into the day i noticed the main root for each seeds had broken out the pellet by a mm or 2 sticking into fresh air. I panicked and quickly put the pellets into the final pots which i thankfully had all ready and waiting with the soil mix ready.. Im worried that the seedlings may have been shocked by the whole thing? What do you think? Hoping not as it was literally just an hour or two with the root poking out into the air.. But with autos they freek me out, and i have stuffed this up once before, trying so hard to get it just right this time and now this, Heaven help me!
Tell me they will be ok
