Strange plants in my tent.

I’ve been germinating a bunch of seeds lately. Most of them are normal with two exceptions. This first one is a blue dream from Nirvana. This is the only bean I planted from what’s probably the last seeds I buy from nirvana. So blue dream is a cross of blueberry and haze #1. People say that it’s usually sativa dominant, but I’ve personally never seen leaves this wide even on “pure” indicas. Did I get a pure blueberry pheno? The short structure and super wide leaves suggest I did. It’s funny as fuck because I grew out their blue mystic a while back which is supposed to be more indica dominant, and I got two very sativa dominant phenos.

The second one is a snake oil sprout from greenpoint. It is still very young but I think it’s got some genetic issues. Should I cull or should I wait?

^Second that. Sometimes the freaky looking ones surprise you, and plants can easily outgrow early issues.

I'm currently flowering a Jack Herer which started off with wide leaves like that, then as the plant matured, the leaves took on more of the sativa look. I guess I'm just saying it's not that unusual.

I've grown Nirvana hybrids and I get fat indica type leaves early but later in the grow some of the strains have much thinner sativa type leaves. First photo is Nirvana OG Kush and Blackjack in veg, one month from seed. Second photo is the same grow two months later, in mid-flower.

That’s really interesting. I’ve grown a bunch of gear from nirvana. Blue mystic, aurora, white widow, kandy kush, tangie, and now blue dream. I’ve seen everything else through clear up to week 6 of flowering where I’m at with everything but the blue mystic, which I didn’t keep. White widow and aurora are the best clones out of the pack and the kush and tangie are just two beans I popped. Got an amazing pure sativa tangie pheno that I’m totally keeping for a while. Had a massive outdoor haul of the blue mystic this year and I’m frankly tired of smoking/dabbing it.

This blue dream is the first plant I’ve ever had from anyone that looks like that. Usually indicas look like indicas and sativas look like sativas. Out of everything I grew from them I only found two really awesome phenos, but I’m hoping this will be a third just because of it’s super stout structure and hairy ass stems.

Yeah I agree it’s too early for the snake oil. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this and knows what will become of it since it seems like everyone on RIU is growing stuff from greenpoint right now.

Since a lot of you in here seem to have experience with Nirvana I’m gonna post this question here instead of my grow journal.

This sativa dominant tangie is by far the frostiest and best yielding pheno I currently have. She’s also getting her fall colors before any of the other plants. Is this normal? We’re only on day 40. I’d be surprised if something this sativa dominant finished in 7 weeks but that would definitely make this pheno a long term keeper. Is this okay or does she need a hit of nitrogen to keep going longer? None of the other plants are changing color yet.

The weird seedling is snake oil. The blue dream is the one with really wide leaves. I had read that blueberry does that, but the blue dream just looks like a super wide leaf indica.

I’ll keep an eye on the snake oil. There’s a chance it will end up male and I’ll toss it anyway, but I might as well wait and see. I‘ve got plenty of room until all this stuff from greenpoint starts getting big. I planted a total of 18 beans and 16 sprouted, so I’ve gotta start eliminating stuff as soon as I can.

Nirvana is a shitty seedbank for consistency. Buy 10 seeds of the same strain and you'll end up with 10 wildly different phenos.
I have definitely noticed that. Of everything I’ve grown so far only the aurora produced some similar phenos. Everything else was all over the fucking place. I’m getting seeds from greenpoint now although I did find some rare fire phenos among what I popped from nirvana. Namely a super fire white widow and that sativa dominant tangie I posted up there.

I couldn't even get Nirvana Blue Mystic to germinate, bad seeds.

I had some phenos from nirvana back in the day that I liked! I just think when it comes to them you might as well just get the random pack because you're not going to get what you picked out. Lol.

Had the same thing happen with a great white shark .

Regular or fem? I grew some regular seeds. Two didn’t pop, one was male, and the two ladies were sativa dominant af. One pheno had a really unpleasant sickly sweet IPA taste that I couldn’t stand. I’ve been literally giving that weed away. The other pheno was like a solid sativa. Makes awesome rosin but only 11% yield.

I’m done with Nirvana. I got a few really good phenos but there’s just no telling what you’ll get and the beans takeforever to arrive from NL.

I'm honestly surprised that nirvana and their "blue mystic" are still around. The seeds they sent you are probably from the same batch I ordered back in 2009 . It's a garbage strain anyway you're not missing out.
Yeah I only grew that strain for my very first grow. It was like $15 for the beans. I should have spent more money on something good. I blew the blue mystics up outdoors last summer and got almost a half pound of bud that I can’t stand, and about 3/4lb of the decent pheno.
