Storing seeds

I have quite the collection of seeds and a thought crossed my mind on how i should store them.

Is there a correct way¿

Send me some I'll help u store them

with a desiccant in an air tight container in the freezer for long term storage(over 5 years)


in a cool, dark, dry place for short term storage (under 5 years)

I keep mine in a glass coffee jar with my old wank sock over it

Do the same in the crisper in refrig. I avoid the freezer

but realistically. for most of my growing experience ive been using seed stock 10-20 years old. stored in my home freezer and some from the tool box of an old truck hitting tx summer temps and the occasional freeze. still great germ rates.
i only have issues with fresh seed stock

I know many seeds don't do well under 20% humidity..im not certain of cannabis seeds. there could have been a study done in the past year..
but like with decreasing humidity, longevity is also improved once you reach the upper critical moisture content. at this level respiration is allowed to occur and the seed actually repairs damage it would receive...
with the extremely dry conditions, when using a dessicant, the seed will have a higher chance of "dying" from the rapid water absorption. they first must be exposed to humid air...

which you could have been doing all along.

the reason there isnt a hard consensus. is that it really doesnt matter

Silica beads work. Rice works.
