Stick Vs Spiral

Something that's bugging me a little, i notice by everyone's cfl pictures that most people use spiral cfl lights is there any reasons to why people choose to use these over stick cfl variety?

Or is it just preference?

Smaller, less heat, easier to get round coverage instead of just top lighting. Few of the reasons I can think of.
