stealth mini fridge grow question

hello all. i am currently growing a single plant in my mini fridge with a 100w CFL. i am wondering if turning the fridge on (activating the fans inside) will cool the inside and allow for a passive intake?

thanks.:leaf:

Great idea on the mini fridge, great reflecting surfaces and compact

I'd only use the fridge's cooling for a real hot day. Keep the door cracked, use a small fan to circulate the air in the entire grow room. The air in your room/house should be exchanged every week at least to give your plant fresh CO2. The fridge will only push that same small amout of air captured within the closed door over and over.

Unless you had this in mind the whole time?

no, i dont think i would work, Temps would get to cold inside the box for ur plant to get anywhere, they would very slugishly finish flowering with minimal bud

No it won't work. Take the coil (usually the freezer part) and compressor out. Get a cheap $12 bathroom fan (home depot or lowes) for an exhaust at the top of the box and cut a hole for a passive intake. I had a 150hps and a bunch of 26 watt clfs and the box stayed a few degrees above ambient.

thanks for the help and opinions.

with the mini fridge turned on and the CFL on it stays at 70-78 degrees. i have the fridge fan turned on low. every 30 mins i open the fridge to vent out. the inside is also white so it makes a good reflective surface .

i think this will work , do you?

i use a mini fridge for vegging and it works for me. Make sure to have good ventilation, it is real easy for fridges to get moldy. I have a small fan, a couple CFL's and my temps stay pretty steady in the 70's with the door slightly cracked.
