Planning on transplanting later on in veg to subcools super soil and I need some insight on what soil I should use to start my seedlings in and keep them in until transplanting into final pots in super soil?
Im using subcools exact recipe and cooking it for 2 weeks then storing it until needed...
But I need a base soil to start seeds in , im spending good money on Fem seeds and dont want my money wasted, planning on making all my own clones and such..
Would it be better to start them in Rockwools ?

I would use happy frog or equivalent with a small amount of the supersoil mixed in the bottom of the pot. That should take care of them in veg, just mix in more supersoil for the final potting. If it is too late for that just use a grow nute I sometimes add an Alaska fish fertilizer 5-1-1 with some eco-nereo kelp. Molasses is good to add as well to help support the health of the organisms in the soil to break down the nutrients for the plant.

I agree. whatever you use, mix a little of your main soil. You don't want to transplant into a totally different mix for a few reasons. Different water retention of the two soils can effect the way the roots develop.

If your not sure how to start your seeds and are worried about wasting your money. I suggest getting a couple of bag seeds and seeing what tech. works for you best. I use rabid rooters to start then transfer into a solo cup with recycled medium from last grow for 2 weeks then into my veg medium. This way I know i don't burn my seedlings, but every body has a way that works best for them.

i'm lazy, i'm a big fan of fox farm light warrior for my seedlings/clones. then right into ocean forest with some additives.

i used ocean forest for seedlings once and it stunted the seedlings. i ended up tossing them and starting again.
the soil was too hot and i was too high to remember that. figuring that one out was one of my first posts here.

it's remarkable how much a pot head can forget and have to relearn over the years. :)
