Starting seeds indoors then outdoors?

-14 early bud seeds.
-rubbermaid containers.(68 L)
-organic potting soil, perlite, worm casting, cow manure mixed in.

I got the seeds germinating(paper towel). The weather for the next 2 weeks is gonna be mid 60's i'm thinking of starting the plants indoor under fluorcent lights but i am unsure of:

+ how close the lights should be to the plants?

+Leaving the lights on for 24 hours for 1-2 weeks be ok?

Can you give me any tips??????

Flouorescents should be just a few inches away from plants. 24 hours of light per day for a couple weeks wouldn't kill them. Though I much prefer to simulate their natural environment with a dark period. Though I haven't done any extensive testing using both methods to see if one outperforms the other. So yes, it would be ok to do that. As far as tips, what else do you need to know? Can't really give tips without some info as to what you have and what you plan on having and what you plan on doing with it all.

Depending on the wattage of your lights but you could have them about one inch from the top. If you notice any burning on the leaves, move it up and if it looks like its starting to stretch, move it closer. I like to leave the lights on 24 hours soon as I transplant till they get there 1st or 2nd set of leaves, then I switch to 18/6. Some like to leave it on 24 hours throughout the veg but that's all debatable.
