So, this is my first real grow. I have one plant already growing in a far away place outdoors i may take clones from next month, but for this grow...
I'm starting with a seed. No germination, i've tried just placing the seed in soil before germinating and it seems to sprout alot quicker that way...So i sowed it today. I sowed it a 2 liter bottle...I cut the top off, turned it into the bigger half after putting water in it, put six small yarn wicks from the water and up into the soil for a constant water supply although i plan on watering myself if i need too...using potting soil mixed with regular every day soil and a bit of starter/grower plant food. Some gravel was added to add better drainage...For a grow box i'm using a cabinet ( 2 1/2' feet tall by 2 1/2x2') and mounted a movable CFL (23 watt) to begin the grow. i figure i'll keep the plant around 1 foot to 1 and 3/4 feet tall, but bush it outward so it's short but fat. I'll probably add more lights during the flowering stage, maybe when i have it in bush form so it get's better light. I figure having a short, fat bush will allow for better light coverage using CFLs since they don't penetrate far into the plant, plus i need to keep it in the space i have haha. I could be growing four very small plants, but i'd like to just start with one. So, any advice for the future or now is alot of help!!! And, just to be safe till i can add more lights later, i put smooth tinfoil on the roof, floor and wall opposite the light to reflect the light around better (for now). Like i said, any advice, tips, w/e you guys have for me is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!
