Starting first clone

Hello!

Starting the first plant ever, happens to be 2 clones, one grapefruit and the other kc jones and just would really like some basic input to see if going about it in the right way. The grow setup is pretty simple and straightforward...just wondering what to expect, any important things that should be done and/or to avoid. Planting the clones, at least one, tonight dont want to make any major mistakes would love a good first harvest. Doing plenty of research though even if no one responds to this post but it would be helpful to find some experienced friends. Some background info: using CFL's Happy Grow Soil and pH-ed water.

If the clones are rooted with at least .5 inch roots I'd plant them. If not, let them root a little more. But if they're ready to plant make sure you don't put them in a big pot. Preferably no bigger than 1 gallon. I like to start my clones (after they root) in solo cups. They're cheap, small and easy to transplant from. The solo cup allows the small clone to suck up water quicker than a larger pot. This prevents drowning. I usually keep clones in the solo cup for 2 weeks. Then transplant to 3-5 gallon pots. This really depends on the final pot size you want.
