Staggered Harvest Question?

So doing a staggered harvest do you HAVE to clip the whole branch or can you just clip parts of the branch for example just the top 6 inches of a side cola while the lower buds on the same branch ripen?

It's your plant . I take what I want to bc it's all getting cut some enough.
Sometimes I can't do the whole plant in one night , sometimes I want to give the lower limbs some more time . But I'm always afraid something bad is going to set up in the plant , so 4/7 days is all . Besides once I start cutting on the crops , I'm ready to fill it back up with the clones that are waiting. It's just how I do it .

excellent i wasn't sure if it would stunt growth or cause problems! The heat doesn't get above 80 in the room, ambient temps not under lights about 67F.
