squirrel cage with carbon filter?

Hey guys im thinking about buying this squirrel cage exhaust and atatch it to my carbon filter.

But i havnt really seen anyone do this? What do you guys think? for the most part ive seen people just hook up inline fans to their carbon filters.

Personally id go with and inline or snag one off an old PC mainly cause that one is $109 and that Exchanges air in a 2200 cu. ft. room in 5 minutes. just seems like a bit much for the space ur working with.

I see no reason that it shouldn't work .

I use the 265cfm version with a 4 inch carbon filter in my cab. I have no issues with smell in the room or house.

Thats a decent fan...but it has a square exhaust, and most carbon filters are round fittings... You're gonna need a special fitting/adapter.

Squirrel cagers are pretty loud to..and inline is a bit quieter...Axial fans are even quieter...id recommend a nice little Eco-plus axial, theyre relatively quiet, have good CFM's and are low profile.

When you guys are saying "inline" I assume you mean centrifugal(can fan) , just an inline fan ( a fan mounted in a piece of pipe) won't really run a serious carbon filter.

That fan does 165 cfm , they sell bigger ones if your area is bigger, do some math and figure you wanna refresh room air every whatever you feel comfy with, my area is just about 160 cf so I went with that fan up above and built my scrubber, it pulls air thru 2 inches of carbon . had I tried to do this with an inline fan( fan mounted in pipe) it wouldn't have worked.Errr I suppose the fan I posted IS an inline fan but its also centrifugal , thought I'd point that out.

From the research ive done it seems that an inline fan would be ideal for a carbon filter but you could use a squirrele cage fan for a carbon filter..
