Sprouting nanners... how much longer do I have?!

I spotted one little yellow doodad about a week ago and thought I was good to go after plucking it off. Now I have them popping up in bunches on almost all of my buds!! I pulled off maybe 50-100 that were very small, very immature looking. Most of them broke when I tried plucking them with tweezers. Some I couldn't even see without my scope.

But how do you know when these little things are mature and spewing out pollen? And how long does it take for seeds to develop? My plant probably needs another week before I chop, but I can chop now and still get something decent out of it.

On nanners you can have some that are sterile as well and never put out pollen. If you only need another week I'd go for it. But I am a bit of a risk taker and don't mind seeds and produce only for myself. What strain is doing this?

It's a random bag seed... but has been pretty badly stressed pretty much her entire life lol. I've had temp problems, light problems, humidity problems, nute problems, soil problems, you name it... but I was just trying to get things down pat before it truly matters. I guess I wouldn't mind a couple seeds because my expectations are so low. Is there anything that indicates whether or not a nanner is sterile or putting out pollen?

yeah pull a banana that looks ripe off then press it between your figures if yellow/white pollen comes out of it then its putting out pollen... i have never heard of a sterile one

Hey Bygon,

I had a similar problem. Grew a bag seed that came from a feminized white widow. About 3 weeks left saw those yellow nanners popping up everywhere. I plucked them off when I saw them but I'm sure I didn't gem them all. However, end result was a sinsemilla harvest and really good smoke.

If there was accidental pollination, I would rather have a few immature seeds in mature marijuana rather than no seeds in immature marijuana. Harvest when the plant is done - no other reasoning should apply.
