Split the stump during LST, first week of flower. Do I need to do something?

Hey all, I was tightening my LST tethers a smidge to open up the middle of the canopy, and heard a slight crack. I let the pressure off a bit and put it in the tent but I noticed that it split right at the main stem.

I’m guessing more tightening is right out... do I need to do anything to “fix” this? Leave it alone, release pressure and tape it, or what? This is my first grow, so any help would be much appreciated.

So I’ve got those two opposing branches tied together towards the base, and then have tethers in the upper limbs which are much more flexible, pulling them down into position just a bit. It doesn’t seem to be transferring any of that to the split

Does this look OK?

IMHO you're fine.
However, I'd release a bit on the top branches and not try to go any lower than where you reset - she told you her limit.

I did the same - on a branch. It healed, but is smaller than the rest of the plant.
I also noticed a bunch of stretch marks on the knuckles the other day, so I eased up LST by about 1/4 inch.

edit - nice fix! Looks like the knuckles will envelope the stump soon anyway.

Right on, thanks Lockedin, I knew when I was doing it I shouldn’t have been, and then it cracked. Whoops. Lesson learned, I reckon. She hasn’t drooped or shown much stress so I’ll let her rip and see.

I ended up nearly severing one of what are now the 4 main stems during topping, and had to tape it back together. It was healed within a week, but as you mentioned it is a bit smaller than it’s opposing twin. Oh well.
