spider web looking fungus

So we're done with eight weeks of flowering and our densist bud turns out to have a spider web looking fungus growing in the middle of it. We clipped it off, and wiped out as much of the fungus and dead plant material as possible. Is there any other treatment for this besides lowering humidity and increasing ventilation? I don't think we want to apply any fungicide due to the fact that we are about to chop. There were a couple other areas that we could find that had some fungus growing so we cut them off too. Should we chop the whole plant down now before it spreads? I put the infected bud in the freezer, hoping to kill the fungus, and then I'll dry it out by the dehumidifier. Any other things I should be doing?

you most likely have spider mites,but a pic would be great to make sure. just look into some organic treatments(mixing a batch of neem oil works and its natural. just make sure you give 2 weeks after treating the mites before you harvest, b/c your buds may taste like whatever treatment you use. There are a lot of informative threads about Spider mites and how to deal with them on here. GL

PS. really dealing with mites starts at the source inmy opinion, like i never bring other plants from outside or any other grow into my room. Also i dont let my dogs into my grow area, and all though I forget to most of the tim I switch my shirt to my grow room shirt and try to wash up before entering my grow room. may sound a bit mondane but i (cross my fingers)have never had a pest prob yet.

I'm pretty sure its a fungus and not spider mites. I'm a science teacher and this is not my first grow either. I just said it was a spider web looking fungus for description, it is not really spider webs. the humidity got way too high in my flowering chamber with all of this rain, and my partner moved the fans without telling me. Once we moved them back and shut the windows and cranked up the dehumidifier we were able to reduce the humidity from 85% to 65% overnight. I've applied baking powder to the site on the buds that we cut after freezing overnight. They are now drying in papertowels by the dehumidifier. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, pics aren't going to happen. If you had seen a fungus like this you would know right away from my description. Anyone else have this happen? I know it was humidity and lack of ventilation thanks to moving the fans!
