You need to get a magnifier too really see what is going on. Something that dark looks like an insect (eggs and most insects are white), but you will know better, anyway squash the fucker.
As far as spider mites are concerned, you will see their webs 1st, you will never spot them until that occurs, so no webs, no spider mites.
Good luck

It's not mites. In my experience you notice little random spots appearing on a few leaves.. Very small and usually brown. By the time you notice webs you have a full blown infestation going on. I give my plants a good look at every day for spots and if you catch it at a few leaves you may be able to just spray an area 3 or 4x as big as the spotted leaves and get rid of them. I have a old cheapo 30X lighted scope from Radio Shack and it's good enough to tell for certain what kind of bug it is and a certain ID is paramount to using the right weapons to win the battle.

I'd just keep an eye on things real close as it's often a random bug wandered in not an invasion.

Good luck!

976367389-mites-1.jpg Here's a classic example of spider mites and related damage on Cannabis. One of the easiest ways to examine for mites is to shake a few leaves over a white piece of paper and the wipe across the paper with your hand. If you have spider mites you'll see blood streaks. A loop or magnifying glass helps.
You don't have spider mites. I don't remember what their frass (poop) looks like but it's not larger than the mite itself.
Don't spray as a precaution. It doesn't work that way. Insecticides are contact necessary.
Good luck.

Also white spotting on top of leaves is a sure indication. By the time you see webs you have a thriving problem. I would use Azamax it's organic and it leaves them sterile and lethargic
