Hi Guys.
New to the forum, and looking for some advice.

I have a slight spidermite problem, and im looking for something that will kill the spider mites AND THE EGGS!
Where can i get a miticide spray that will do this?
I have been spaying for about a week with pest off and when i return to check i see new webs formed on the bottom of the plant. :wall:
I have looked everywhere and most miticides only kill the spider mite itself not the egg.

Help please
Thanks

Try the tobacco (nicotine) tea spray.
I'm fighting them little pricks right now myself . . . with pyrethrum spray and neems.
Had I found the nicotine fix before I started this effort, I suspect I wouldn't still be fighting them.
It's routine to spray 2-3 weeks after initial spray to get the eggs/nits.

The tobacco spray is allegedly one spray. Period. No follow up. No mites. I think it's just soaking tobacco in water and maybe skimming, and maybe a drop of soap?
Good luck w/whatever you decide.
I'm looking at every 3 days for 3 weeks w/neems. . . and that sucks.

1L of water
1 small garlic (might have to half it)
sliver of sope
could use a couple cig butts

mist your plants on the top and bottom of the leafs then take the mixture put it on your fingers and whipe your plant leafs with it then rince it off

If you're indoors in a smaller grow room, hot shot no-pest strips work amazing. Just stick a couple of those in there and the mites all die within a few days.

WELL SPIDERMITES CAN BE A BIG PROBLEM IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF EARLY, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE BREEDING CYCLE OF THE SPIDERMITE. ONCE A FEMALE SPIDERMITE HAS MATED SHE WILL BE FERTILIZED FOR LIFE. THESE LITTLE SPIDERS LOVE A 70-80 DEGREE CLIMATE. NOW NORMALLY THEY REPRODUCE EVERY FIVE DAYS, EVEN MORE QUICKLY WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 80 DEGREES, SO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE A HARSH ENVIRONMENT FOR THESE SPIDERS TO LIVE. THE BOOK I HAVE SAYS TO USE THE SPRAYS COMMONLY USED FOR THIS PEST AND ALSO TO LOWER YOUR GROWROOM TEMPERATURE TO 60 DEGREES, THIS WILL SLOW DOWN THEIR REPRODUCING NUMBERS SO HOPEFULLY YOU CAN WIPE THEM OUT.:weed:

also on top of that washing your walls and such including your cloths , bedding , carpets , floors and such will help whipe them out faster and make the chances of them comming back soon after you fixed the problum on your plant less likly to happen

I looked into those HotShot pest strips last night. I suppose they are useful if your grow isn't in your house, but the active ingredient is a known carcinogen. I can't say this would effect the weed, but just knowing this product is strong enough to kill a hard-to-get-rid-of pest by simply hanging in a corner, well that's enough to dissuade me, ESPECIALLY DURING FLOWER.
Besides, it says not to let your pets or children sleep in the treated area, and I've always slept near my grow.

Personally I think there's more carcinogens in the smoke than there are in the hot shot strip. The active ingredient in the strip is a neurotoxin, but it breaks down very quickly in the human body; it is NOT persistent. Us vertebrates have better-protected nerve cells than arthropods like insects and spider mites, which is why it's a lot more effective on them. Plus, it vaporizes at room temperature, so the way I figure it, a few days of good ventilation should clear up any residue. I understand completely why people might not want to use this stuff, but I did my research on it, and it seems pretty safe. You know, unless you're breathing it in like all day.

The idea behind the tobacco/nicotine spray is that they get nicotine poisoning.

Now I'm no scientist but I doubt there is an animal out there that can withstand a hefty amount of nicotine in their system.

There is no 100% sucess rate with ANY spider mite destroying product.

Just think of animal weaknesses.

What do all animals need to survive?

Food, water and oxygen.

I'm sure you could come up with something.

I wonder if anyone has completely filled their room with c02 for an hour or so, see if that kills the buggers?
Hmm.
