Spider mite photos, treatment with dichlorvos

Here is some evidence I have found of spider mite infestation:

No doubt about it, that's spider mites, right? Larvae on the right side though not sure if it's a mite or what.

Can anybody confirm for me that this is the 2-spotted Spider Mite variety? Based on the first photo I'd say yes but a second opinion from somebody who has been doing this for a long time would not hurt! This is my 2nd year.

I decided yesterday to start treating my 4x4x6 veg tent with dichlorvos. When I discovered the infection I freaked out and chopped down my whole flower tent and then bleached the fuck out of everything.

I really want to keep my strains going though...

So, I have read that people are extremely successful with this chemical, which is available in the form of "No pest strips" -- which is different from the sticky traps!! For a long time I dismissed anybody who said anything "strips" because I assumed they were sticky traps! Ignorant of me.

I have also read that many people have had very little if not zero success with dichlorvos, so I want to see for myself.

The tent is located in a negative pressure room that is otherwise only for growing. I am going to allow mild but decreased ventilation of the tent to increase the chances that this fumigation will be successful.

Anyways I will post my findinags in a few days, of course along with photos if I can produce any.

I dont know why you chopped everything down....

as for what kind of mite its probably a 2 spotted, twospotted+spider+mite+Frank+Peairs,+Colorado+State+University,+wwwipmimagesorg.jpg

as for organophosphate Vs. SM not likely your gonna win with you current choice of pesticide, malathion would be a better choice, or acepohate for that matter the best organophosphate of them all, but in all honesty would go with none of those as they are not really geared specifically for SM, i would start with pyrethrins or neem or both in a rotation.

hey MrGanja!

thanks your your info here! I really don't know anything about pesticides but was able to find this stuff at home depot for a cheap price and read that it works. (again also reading that it doesn't work)

since I have already started my dichlorvos regime, I think I should at least see it through for a good dose due to what ever creatures it might be combating if not the spider mites, I don't want to create super bugs of any kind.

In canada apparently it's harder to get pyrethrins for costs reasons but apparently scotts ecosense is that type of pesticide. I've also considered predator mites PHYTOSEIULUS PERSIMILIS.

The part that really attracted me to the dichlorvos vapor strips was that it seems pretty easy to do. (Maybe too good to be true type thing).

Also as for why I have chopped everything down, I just freaked out and was angry.

It was a sad day, but I'd say I got a good few ounces. Had a variety of maturity of plants, some very premature Kali Mist I'm smoking for the first time ...

it was a really stupid thing for me to do to just chop everything down; now that I read that there are some viable solutions.

But there's more shit going down here too with respect to me moving in a few weeks, etc... i have a specific move date on my grow permit so I want to try to stay as legal as I can, and although in hindsight that has nothing to do with it, so I have a lot on my plate and making bad decisions.

First time dealing with spider mites, which of course I figured would never effect MEEE.. lol

predator mite would die from your treatment unfortunately you have to be very selective when using preditor mites and pesticides in conjunction pyrethrins is a terrible choice for this, often it may be hard to find good pyrethrins products cheap locally but you can buy pErmethrin man made substitute works better IMO not as instant but as well

of course i would never use predator mites in combination of or any time in the reasonably near future after i used any pesticide.

You recommend permethrin? I will check into this, well after this experiment is done :)

TY again :)
