Spare bedroom grow questions

Im looking to harvest about 15 lowryders every 8 weeks and i have a empty house to do it in. Im only halfway through my first grow so im still fairly green when it comes to growing. I think i can flower 15 under one 400 w hps and supplement that with the 8-10 42w cfl's i have from my first grow. My question is should i build a room inside the bedroom or no? The smell creeping outside is my only concern for the most part. I rarely if ever have guest so if the inside of my house has a little faint smell thats ok. I have $1000 to spend atleast and i want to do it right the first time so im not always upgrading. The reason im doing the lowryders is because that is what i grew initially and im doing a seed run at the moment. Ive seen the tents but they look insanely overpriced for something that would seem to be an easy diy.

So my qestion is basically if you were me and you were trying to harvest 15 lowryders every 8 weeks and had a spare 12 x12 bedroom how would you do it? There is a window in the room but i cant hang an a/c. I can cut some exhaust holes in the closet ceiling if i needed to. TIA

Also can you sugest a good 400w hps and should i bother with the conversion bulb doing autoflowers?

Dude, flowering 15 plants, under one 400W hps is going to be stretch, although I've never grown lowryder plants. If you want to "do it right" like you said, you should invest in more light, and more necessary equipment. Scrubbers, inline fans, air cooled lights, etc. Visit one of the many grow journals of those with sick setups and that should give you an idea.

Check my journal, tents aren't expensive. What I would do with $1000 and a 12x12 space. I would buy 1 400MH ($140) watt light and a tent. Then a 600 watt light ($200). ALL Fox Farm products (soil nutes $200USD), I can't say enough about the excellent quality. Then, a 100 ft sheet of mylar to line the walls ($30) for increased lummens to the plants. The tent is your veg/cloning station. You can veg 18 at a time in 1 gallon bags. Then the 600HPS remains out the tent in the same room for your flowering. Now your going to need to be moving some serious air throughout. And possibly co2, but you can get away without if need be, but highly suggested. I'd get 1 6" inch inline fan/carbon filter combo($200) for the room itself. Running 24/0. Then the tent will require a 4"fan and filter combo ($140) for the inside running on the same timer the light is being run on, 18/6, or if your doing 24/0, then jam em all out 24/0, but keep in mind amp usage, if you live in the states I'd try to keep under 1500 watts at a time. Now ducting ($35)for the exhaust needs to exit the room, in the attic preferably if you have one, if not where is the laundry room??

thanks. yes, there is an attic.

And the last 85 bucks buy some decent seeds, I don't like lowryder personally. They thrive on 20/4 the entire cycle and are done in less than 3 months which is cool but the yield isn't otminal for this size grow room your orchstrating. I'd suggest some nasty white widow max, or something worth the wild and money.

Yeah man, run exhaust to the attic, keep a window open for increased co2 from the outside during veg, then flower time!! ehhhhhh co2? I hate saying it because I haven't invested myself. . BUT will do wonders, I've seen superiour results with co2. BUT if your like me and have been doing this only a couple times, co2 is expensive and complicated (from what I've read), and I've seen EXCELLENT results wihtout. Hope all goes well!

thanks man, but do i really need the tent with auto's? Everything is 18/6 and light leaks are no big deal i think. like i said my main concern is smell. My neighbors house is about 50ft from the window in my grow and if a johovah witness stops by id hope he doesnt catch a wiff. My initial idea was to put up a painters sheet wall dividing the room and just use the space behind the sheet. A scrubber leading to the attic is a must but what about temps with a 400w and 8- 42w cfls? Do you think i would need a portable ac? Thanks again.

I am in a similar situation, Have an extra room devoted to growing. My room is up and running but still has its problems, Ventilation was the first bump, so I bought a bilge blower fan and now its vented into the attic, it is being sucked through a DIY carbon filter, and through my 600w HPS hood. I also have a Hepa Filter, with a carbon pre filter($10 at thrift store) running all the time. Also have 3 or 4 other fans running around the room. My temps still get up to 85 plus, so Im not there yet. My biggest suggedtion would be to focus on cooling and ventilation. Have no air conditioning what so ever, so you might not be as bad off as me. Painters sheet wont work. Odor will leak. Sounds like you need to put half that money in carbon filters and fans, which is smart. Msg me, for further questions, what content do you live in, for laws differ everywhere??

What will i connect the carbon scrubber too if i dont use some sort of tent?

plastic. the black is light proof and holds up well, but its just plastic.

I have heard of Lowryder grows where they let the males pollinate the females and those are the seeds for the next grow...

A bit of a pain in the butt in my opinion, but if that's what you're into...

I can see it work... an Army of Lowryders, creating the next generation...

Just be careful they don't take over your house...lol....
