SOS cuz i'm a newb...

OK so i built a grow tent.. It's about 59 percent humidity, 77 degrees in the there 24 hours a day i have the lights 2 inches from the plant and leave those on 24 hours a day. .. I have 4 20 watt CFL grow lights (300 watt LED will be arriving shortly).. I had random seeds and these are what the 2 plants ( 2 pics of each)I have look like, one looks healthy, and the other doesn't to me, the inexperienced grower.. I have them in percolite and MG potting soil.. I water them once, sometimes twice a day, I should mention i have them in small jiffy pots, and it always seems dry to me, so of course being a newb i water... I do not have a fan in the room yet, should this happen? Basically i'm looking for some help and suggestions... Esepcially since i just ordered 10 BC Juicy Fruit Feminized seeds, and i'd rather fuck up some horrible seeds before i fuck up the seeds i was bought...

Im new as well but I have learned less is more. Water only when the soil is dry. When they are drooping like that it means too much water. MG is difficult from what I have read since its always giving nutrients to the plants and is usually too hot for seedlings.

I have organic potting soil.. I'll change it and see how it goes... Hopefully i don't stress it too much.. Would that be better?

So replanted in organic potting soil that i believe is 25 percent percolite (sp)... I have some questions...

- 4 x 20 watt cfl's, how far away?
- Watering, only when the soil is dry below the surface?
- Lights - 24 hours a day ? or 18?
- I apologize for being a newb.. lol

24 hrs for seedlings, then after the little one has good solid roots, I go to 18/6. Never use MG, I have yet to figure out how they are still around as everyone I ever talk to says it burns everything, from Gras to tomatoes and cannabis. I use a grow medium from beginning to end, it has peat Moss, and perlite and all that stuff, it's very mild and has never hurt my little ones. I bought it at a local hardware store. You are using CFL, they give off heat still, more so then say an led or t5. Keep them as close as possible, but watch for stress. I try and keep my t5 4 or 5 inches away and it stacks nodes like whoa. You need a fan big time, it's one of the most important things next to a light. The air movement stimulates growth, and helps beef up that stalk to support all the massive bud your trying to grow. It's also one of the cheapest things to put In your garden. Also, that perlite you have three looks very corse, maybe too corae for it to do any good.

If you are a noob go and buy 60/40 coco and clay rock mix. It's basically impossible to over water. PROBLEM 1 SORTED.

Get rid of those Peat pots because they turn to mush when you've overwatered.
PROBLEM 2 SORTED

Put a small fan in your tent, don't place them directly inline with the air flow

PROBLEM 3 SORTED

Don't put your plants straight under the led when it arrives as you'll shock them with the strength of light. Let them grow a bit first

PRE EMPTIVE PROBLEM SOLVED

Fan is in... I moved the lights a bit farther away... I'm watering once a day, and i changed the soil to organic potting, and i noticed improvement in the one that was most green, and the one with the dead leafs there is new growth i can see.. The soil seemed to do the trick... I appreciate all the help.. ty... Hopefully one day i won't be so nooby..

Don't water everyday. Let the soil dry out. Pick up your pots and feel the weight of them. You will know when they need to be watered.

The bottom leaves will start to wilt a little sometimes--slightly-that is usually how mine look before water. I do once every 3 days.

First of all no seed is a horribe seed they all have significance.
And when using MG moisture control you #put the soil in the pot. #Do a water run off until water exstract from the bottom. #Let it sit until there is no water coming out. #Then you plant your seed. Put it in pitch black darkness until it sprouts. Mark the day that you water because you will forget. Per say you water monday, dont water again till wednesday evening or thursday morning. MG retains(hold) water. Thats why its called moisture control. You can jeep your lights at 3" to make sure you dont burn or stress them. You do need to get a fan asap because you want you soil to get air flow which provide power of oxygen and to dry soil at the same time. While the soil is moist aeration (air-flow) is working with moisture and the nutrients in the soil so the roots can feed and move. What MG did you use?:peace:

If you want easier control over seeds buy some rockwool plugs. Wet them and shake off the excess and put your seed in the hole. Done. Use a spray bottle to keep the plug moist. Keep the temp at 24c. You can put it directly under a light too. I like to mimic natures timing. In the real world a seed grows towards the sun. It doesn't sprout in 24 hours of darkness. It's only the tap root that needs to be kept out of the light. Which happens naturally because it grows down into the plug. You can control moisture easily because you can feel how wet the plug is rather than guessing in a pot of soil. You'll also gain knowledge on how many roots you get in a certain time period because you can see that too. On e you have a decent root system THEN transplant into your MG or whatever medium you use. It's easier and more hands on which will improve you as a grower.

Growing is tricky until you have made all the mistakes. You will improve on every grow. Anyone who replies on here will have killed multiple plants learning so don't apologise just don't have to ask the same question twice ;)
