Some advice on some age

I inherited some plants from someone. He didnt seem to know what he was doing, but the plants looked rather healthy so i agreed to take them if he agreed to give me his lights, timers, nutes, etc. I got 7 plants from him. 3 of them are alot taller then the other 4.He said he kept them all on a 18/6 light schedule. Anyways, on one of the shorter ones, i can see white hairs at the nodes, and at the top. Its showing sex. I planned on turning these into mother plants, but if they are showing sex, does that mean that they are already starting to flower? I need advice. So if you guys could give me some input that'd be awesome.
Do I flower them once they show sex?
If they show sex, if i keep them on 18/6 will they remain in vegetative state(for mothering/cloning purposes)?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, if showing pistils then it'd be beginning to flower. If it's just started, you can stick it back in 18/6, or whatever above, and it'll revert to veg. Personally I'd mother up a smaller plant, IF you're sure of the sex?

They start to show white hairs once they're mature, regardless of "in flowering" or not. If you're just starting to see them I'd age them around 1.5 months old. Flower them when you like, but if he's kept them on 18/6 they're still in veg.

Wouldn't this strongly imply that every 7 week old mother plant would have pistils?

I'm not seeing that on my 2 year olds? I guess they're not mature, or perhaps it's strain dependent?

Do u know what strains? Usually my tall ones are sativas and take longer than my shorter indicas do to show sex. At 18/6 they start to show those hairs at about a month. It takes a little longer when you do 24/0. If it is just two hairs at the node, this is normal. You can keep it in veg for a mother or flower now. Your choice.

If you want it veg, I would do 18/6, and when your ready to have them start making buds put it on 12/12. The taller ones are prolyy gonna get 2-3x larger the shorter one shouldnt grow that much more after changing over. They will probably be ready sooner too. At least that is how it always goes for me. Hope that helps some.
