Ok I know my question is kinda dumb but... when doing deep water culture hydroponics how long can the plants go with out air? dose it need to be constant or can you areate every so often as Dissolved oxygen drops?:leaf:

Why would you even bother? Plug it in, run it 24/7, and forget about it

Because i wanna have it in a valley in my back yard and it isant plausible to run a cord back there at all. and this would be the perfect set up for me to do out door hydro if it would work!

If the pump is off all night long it seems the roots would drown. They'd have no oxygen for hours. If it would work however i would guess it would stress the hell out of the plants. Thrive during the day and die at night. lol

I would test it on a small scale and you should have results very quickly. If they don't die after the first week or so it should work otherwise not.

Hope this helps.

LOL dude I was just asking, i've only done NFT hydro and dont know much bout DWC, i just thought it'd be cool if my idea worked, just didnt know if you could go without oxyginating the water for any actual period of time. thanks to all though for the support!
