soil questions

So I was using Yates seedling mix and it's turns out it has pine bark... So I'mppretty sure that's what's killing my seedlings... I went for a walk and found some very rich soil with worms and sand threw it.. It drains well with no bugs that I can see what do you guys think??

Pony up for a good quality potting mix and use it. Stay away from Miracle Grow.

Im actually using dirt from my vegy garden. I would suggest using a good amount of perlite($6/8qt) in the soil for aeration. Say 50/50 perl/soil. Also put the dirt in the oven at 160 degrees for 20 mins to kill unwanted pests and pathogens.
