SOG lighting help . . . .

Just need to know how far away i should keep my lights from my girls at all times???

Ill be using 150 watt hps lamps....

It is SOG so I actually have 4 stages, stage 1: seedling/clone starting (wk 1-3) stage 2: Flwrng (wk 4-6) stage 3: Flwrng (wk 7-9) and 4: Flwrng (wk 10-12)....

Stage 1 ill be using some fluorescents so that isnt an issue, the flowering stages though i will have 3 seperate lamps.. and those consist of the 3 150w hps lamps... Each stage will have 3 plants, Hoping to just get a nice Ounce off each plant, and obviously with the cycle I would get that every 3 weeks ...


But main question as stated above, How far away should those lamps be from the tops of the plants???? shouldnt be too far considering the lamps arent that powerful... but any help is appreciated , thanks !!!

if you can hold your hand there and not feel it burning after a minute you can have your plants there aswell. and offcourse the closer the better..

in jorge cervantes bible he show a nice diagram for distance on lights.

a 175w hps yields enough light to illuminate a 2 x 2 foot (60cm x 60cm) garden well
at 65cm from bulb the intensity is lowered to only 500-1000 lumen per square foot
at 30cm from bulb the intensity is 1200-2000 lumen per square foot

no suggestion in the bible on what distance for 150 watts but for 250 watts its says 12-18 inches from canopy(30cm-45cm) so i guess around 25cm or so from your canopy would be ok if its not to hot for plants.
