Smoking with pleurisy?

Well the past few days I've been having chest pains whenever i cough, take a deep breath, or swallow. So I finally got around to seeing the doctor today and I was diagnosed with pleurisy, which is an inflammation of the pleura surrounding the lungs. It hurts like a bitch, and the prick didn't even prescribe any pain meds. I was hoping to toke up and maybe that would take care of some of the pain. So does anyone have any experience with smoking and pleurisy? Does it make it any worse?

lmao many times have i done it man it hurts alot but after a few months it should go...
if it doesnt then go back to the docs cause that shit can kill you its water on the lungs:sad:
i've had it about 6 times but i also have asmar so i wouldnt worry:-P

You can do it but one wrong toke and the pain will make you shit yourself. Have a clean pair of -Y- fronts handy.

Thanks for the replies. Well I decided to go ahead and toke up, bout to go pick up a quarter. And yeah I smoke straight bongs, with the occaisonal blunt. But it'll be bongs tonight. I'll update later and let everyone know if I shit myself....

I've had pleursy before, cigarettes will really cause you pain, but weed shouldn't be too bad. Just take smaller hits, and try not to hold it too long, you don't want to end up coughing.

Did they give you a shot of toredal? Take tylenol, the meds for pleursy can't be taken with ibuprofin.

You can also do an ice pack, 20 minutes on 20 minutes off.

I went to the doctor also and they gave my no meds. They told me to take 600mg of ibuprofen; it takes the pain down alot. but I'm not sure if I should smoke or not.

Order up some mullien from one of the ehtnobotanical suppliers., its very cheap, and can be mixed with your smoke... legal too.
Its a lung herb which gives alot of relief.

i had that when i was 17 and they gave me vicodin because i literally could not breathe more than a tiny sip of air at a time. i'm surprised to hear others that didn't get pain meds. they also offered tylenol 3 with the codine. but about smoking with that shit i wouldn't do it at all. if you cough it's over. it will take forever to heal if it keeps getting aggravated.

smoke out of a bong with warm water. also, not to go against the opinions of doctors but they said i had that once then my chiropractor xrayed me and i had a popped rib. might be a similar thing.

i had that shit for a while..hah .. you neeed to stop smokin for a bit...each time i took a hit, i felt nasty pains in my chest..like a needle was goin thru it...chill with the weed man...never know what kind of damage your doin to ur system...could be some nasty shit in the weed..chemicals or some shit that ... cancer or sme shit...chil lthe fuckout
