Smoking Hash

I have been smoking hash for 40 yrs. I am fairly new to bubble, full melt, and wax. What is actually happening to the thc when it bubbles/melts? Is that when you are getting the most out of it? I had some full melt that was like fireworks when you first hit it with a lighter, wtf?
Thanks!

Smoking (unpurged?) Hash NOOOOOOO!

The resins are vaporizing/combusting and bubble as they transition phases from solid>liquid>vapor/smoke. Bubble hash (Ice Water Extract - IWE) can be full melt but this is generally strain and purity dependent, as is wax, shatter, angel hair (ie the end form the extracted resin takes at room temperature.) The same goes for Butane Hash Oil (BHO), but smoking solvent sure does make the resins bubbly with (unpurged) BHO too!

Is that when you are getting the most out of it?
Full melt is what those who use a nail and globe (oil rig) seek as it is the easiest to dab, it is also a sign of top quality and purity extract.

Sounds like you got some extract made by a novice that still contained solvent. This is what the 'fireworks' are; the solvents evaporating out and igniting right before you inhale them. It is VERY important to your health not to consume unpurged BHO. Purging is a whole set of (commonly ignored/skipped) steps that pro BHO makers use to remove as much residual solvent as possible. Many uneducated BHOtards think that all you need to do is blast the (sacred) resins in petrochemical solvents and then let it dry/evaporate with gentle heat, they are doing a disservice to anyone who ingests these tainted resins. Make sure you know they know how to do it right or buyer BEWARE.

Cheap oil rig...BHO...Awesome way to ingest concentrates.

No, it was ice water. I think it bubbled. I thought it might be plant material. I was there when it was made, so I know there was no solvent. It was The Cheese. Some of that run was full melt, from the 100 mesh screen.

not necessarily..
sparks and sizzles can also be caused by trapped moisture being quickly boiled by the flame.. or nail, if your using an oil rig...

however you are right..
un-purged bho can be dangerous if consumed in high amounts.
i have been making bho for years now and am convinced that a proper degassing method is the only way to purge, no heat at all.
