It would seem safe to assume that smoke will clog pores and such on the plant and leaves, but at the same time, a large number of growers smoke around their plants on a regular basis, while some go further as to blow onto their plants in some belief it is beneficial, either way, i've heard no horror stories of any kind from casual smoking.

If a plant senses enough smoke in the air it will close it stomata for a few minutes or even hours. With the stomata closed the plant is basically on pause.

Good ventilation can whisk smoke away really fast, so I'm sure a well planned grow space with good ventilation will see less impact than a sealed room, but I would side with Heisenberg on this one.
