Damn that sucks well I read up it and it looks like thc is the culprit and the vape aint gona help you there. this is from an arcticle on the subject.
The researchers said the active acidic ingredient
in marijuana, known as THC, seems to overstimulate
marijuana receptors in the liver, leading to
over-production of the protein.
sorry to hear it bro.

edit: LIGHTBULB! Maybe try to decarboxalize you smoke first to convert over some of the THC acid.

that sounds like pseudoscience...

I hate hearing the dumb lead the ignorant... when thc is heated, by a flame or whatever means, it is automatically converted into delta9thc, which is not an acid.

PLEASE do a little research before you make such idiotic statements, this is how stupid knowledge gets spread around like wildfire.

glycerine isn't as effective as alcohol in making tinctures... well made butter and oil based edibles are usually best... but it isn't for newbies... the shit isn't easy unles you got a low tolerance or don't care how high the brownies get you... I have standards for these things I guess that cause me to think that they are harder to achieve at such a standard.....

oil isn't bad for you if you have a balanced diet. but it's all good just assume I was out to say you were wrong instead of just trying to say use caution before embarking on something like this because it can result in wasting a lot of weed.

so um, smoking weed is going to give me kidney stones? i am actually concerned about the acidity of the smoke, as it is being a bit too much to take bonghits and joints all day every day for a year or so now, and am looking for answers

i guess its always better to make butter

That original info is accurate. That was the research the light bulb was just a wing at a guess... hence the word MAYBE! so If you dont have any better ideas on how this guy can smoke his herb that don't knock mine. I know a vape isn't going to help him. I just figured that decarboxylation would make is less acidic. Not totally because what I researched stated that its the way the thc is reacting in the liver. Just a Maybe. No need to call anyone dumb.... You tree butthead lol.

look, smoked cannabis is decarboxylated just like vaporized cannabis, the only difference is the lack of tars and extra substances that likely get you higher. this is not a cause of kidney stones, that is total stoner trippin paranoia that will cause you to go invest in a vape you don't need.

if anything invest in some fucking hemp wick and stop using that petrolium based lighter.

I dont know how that is a reply but I was just think along the lines of decarboxylized weed loosing the acid form of thc before you started to consume it might make it a bit less acidic, that's all. I know for a fact decarbed weed isnt the same thing as vaped weed. I couldn't really figure out if thats what you were saying or not. I've tried decarbed weed in remembrance of the old high times decarber ads. It does change the high a bit and not for the worse (except taste). I never said a vape would be his answer and I am a proponent of I tal hemp wick. All I'm saying is it may make it a little less acidic. Not a cure all solution to his problem just a start in the right direction. The source of the problem is the THC itself being metabolized by the liver. That means quitting will solve it but that's not what the patient wants.

look I don't see thc being metabolized by the liver as a 'problem' as it has been shown to not damage any organs.

when you actually SMOKE, cannabis, THC-A, loses it's CO2 molecule, to create D9-THC. this is what happens when the flame is applied to the weed. you don't get any acidic forms of any of the chemicals as far as i know because proper curing and smoking causes decarboxylization before it enters the lungs.

my point is that you are misunderstanding the actual process of smoking, because decarboxylization is what happens when the thc and other cannabinoids are heated by the flame. it's quite simple.

Im no scientist nor did i know MJ was acidic but makes perfect sense. Ive been smoking a pipe for almost a week straight and have had heartburn for 6 days now...since i been hitting the pipe again! my vape never gave me acid reflux. interesting...

so we're just gonna believe the few people who have first hand experience, even though there's probably dozens of other factors at hand here, such as the general shitty ass processed food american diet.

but it's alright, stick to the american perspective of blaming one thing instead of looking at the big picture ;)

Oh I see the liver thing came from Dr. Jean Lud Cadet of the National Institute on acidic Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes of Health. Doesn't mean I'm dumb lol. Just means I read. Ok I understand that a flame will separate the thc so it psychoactive, but where does that acidic C02 molecule go? In the same air your smokeing along with the delta thc. I just figured MAYBE.... You burn it off by heating it maybe it will dissipate and not be consumed later when you actually smoke it. Decarboxylation removes the carbon breaking apart the CO2 from the thc.
