just hit day 1 of 5th wk of bloom cycle , growing blue kush, but odour was apparent for 1st time tonight, when opened tent after lights came on, a real pleasent smell of lemon, is that normal for blue kush, i know you can get lemon kush, just wandering if been sold wrong seeds, real newbee question ha ha

blue kush doesn't mean much unless we know the actual parents used in the cross.

even so, it's not at all surprising to get a range of smells from the same pack of seeds. Just like you'll get short and tall plants, you can expect different smells too. Lemon is pretty common across many cannabis lines.

Sure, it'd be nice to expect 100% uniformity from a pack of seeds, but I've yet to see that from any pack I've grown out. Maybe for one trait like smell, or yield, etc you can kinda expect uniformity if the breeder locked that trait down. But the plants will never be exact genetic copies of their brothers and sisters.

also, smells change as the plant matures. I have one going now that smelled like juicy fruit bubblegum a couple weeks ago, and now it smells like menthol. Go figure.

If you're looking for bubblegum, try Fleur Du Mal's Indiana Bubblegum - I was skeptical before growing... turned out spot on bubblegum odor.. more true to its name than blueberry or any other strain I've grown.

The bubblegum pic on his website sells itself. I've perused his offerings many times, just never bit the bullet. How's the effect?

Have not tried it. Now, several months after a long cure, the scent has left, its become a bit brittle in the jar, but I'm sure the odor would return if I broke it open. I'm still learning how to properly cure. I can only imagine the high is like its parents, and likely leaning toward the clone only.

I have had bubblegum before from a dispensary in Cali and it didn't really smell like bubblegum, nothing like the Fleur du Mal, which is why i was skeptical. The dispensary weed was too racy/made me anxious, although a lot of strains do that to me... hope that helps
