Doesn't seem to be a thread on this yet.

I stumbled upon an article once about these 'smart drugs'. They were non stimulants that made the writer of this article feel way better than usual. Apparently there wasn't a noticeable intoxicating effect, but it made him suddenly want to read and write.. Do chores.. You know, shit you like to do when on drugs that improve cognitive performance. Except it's not a stimulant. These seem perfect for me, my roomate is buying some offline soon, and we are going to have a little test to see if we are better at card games and tricks whilst on them. It's not uncommon for us two to sit around playing black jack all day, we count. It's pretty fun. But it really is hard to handle. Especially with all the drugs I do.
Everything I have read about them makes them sound like they have absolutely no harmful effects. The only things I have read that were negative was the 'Oh don't buy it because if it's from a foreign country, it could've been made in bad conditions' or 'this drug makes some students have an advantage and it's not fair'(fuck that last one, if someone said that to my face I think I would punch them in it.)

Anyone know about these things or have vendors? Have specifications as to which ones are best and easiest to use and why you like them?

P.S. Provigil (modafinil) can be expensive. Olmifon (adrafinil) is much more affordable.

My friend was going to buy provigil, I may just get the other one so we can try them both. I will tell you guys what happens when I try these, I can't promise how long it will be, because we are very bad at getting shit done that we need to get done. Hence why we want these drugs.

What else do they go by besides "smart drugs"??? just honestly I don't feel like reading all those links =P. Are they nootropics? Or what??? I'm sure I know some of them, but just haven't heard of the term 'smart drugs'... but they sound good according to your description! And I usually am into the same things as you... like MXE and kratom, bud and tripping.... yeah we're about the same. So please elaborate :P Actually provigil sounds really familiar. I might be able to help out with vendors if I know what it is exactly.

If you enjoy meth then you will love modafinil.

I have a $500 bottle of Nuvigil sitting in the cupboard that I will never touch again. I was first instructed to take a full tablet in the AM. I did not sleep for 2.5 days after one tablet. Encouraged to try again, 1/4 tablets still had me so wired I would get into fights and felt twacked out.

There is no such thing as "shift work disorder". We are meant to be tired at night, not force ourselves to stay up for days. I understand why students like the high and ability to work days on end with little to no fatigue.

I still discourage the use of any modafinil based product, the negative effects far outweigh the positive. Just my 2c.

Modafinil is currently classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance so I doubt you can get anything legitimate online.

Thanks for the info! But before I say anything I want to add that everyone is affected differently.
Have you ever done one that was actually satisfying. That's crazy, because everything that I read is positive on erowid's experience vaults. I agree, that 'disease' is bullshit. I think a vast majority of a lot of mental diagnoses' are bullshit as well. They just give out some shut up pills.
I personally think it is brain washing.

Is it supposed to wake you up like that? I thought it was supposed to be a non stimulant. I think it depends on the medication. I'm going to do a lot of reading before I order anything because of what you just said so I really appreciate you putting in your two cents.
I am stubborn, I feel like this is something I will have to experience myself.

We really want to use it to count cards better. It's real hard to use basic strategy to a T and count at the same time. I feel as if they will help a little by what I have been reading. Aderal does not, it makes me think too fast, and about other things. I get very distracted with conversation and thoughts. Imagine we use this, it's a cheat code, we go to the casino, and win big? Lol Fantasy is what that's called? Regardless, I will need to experience it myself to make a conclusion.

Agreed, everyone different; I feel like it is a under researched drug right now and will be raised on the substance abuse list in the future.

It is SUPPOSED to be a non stimulant. Some researchers describe it as "increasing wakefulness" rather than stimulating like amphetamines.

I feel like its exactly like an amphetamines, if I had to id rather get high off of HCI and Codiene. Granted your going to lose focus but at-least it's relaxing.

I already have ADD/ADHD and I don't sleep because of the overactive mind. So its hard for me to say if it narrowed my thoughts. It increased many thoughts but I was able to focus so 50/50?

If you MUST I will suggest Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse). Its easier to control and really gets the focus going, its still a stimulant type so you will feel when it wears off.
I have gained great success at work under Vyvanse....

I like this statement because.. I actually use opiates to focus sometimes. They make me way better at pool, video games, art, bowling.. But once it comes to systematic things, nah.. Counter-productive.

I have ADD, well am diagnosed. There is definitely something up with my brain because I haven't been able to sit still ever since I was a child. I made excellent grades until highschool.. Whenever I take psychedelics, I can take the most minuscule amount it seems and get an overwhelming experience, and I'm talking visually, not necessarily mentally. I can control them very well at this point. I always have to be doing something.. It gets on my nerves but I love myself. Any medication made me feel brainwashed, depressed, and like shit. Uncreative. I feel very creative. I love music and drawing and writing.. Aderal doesn't help me, it makes me zone out at work and keep doing shit. But it does not make me think properly, or whatever everyone thinks. I don't think it's an imbalance. I think your brain is sacred and you should keep it the way it is already. Even if you are completely nuts. Who is someone else to tell you that you have a skewed realization of reality, when it IS reality to you anyways? Of course some people are dangerous, sooo.. But otherwise.. fuck medications. Weed and psychedelics are okay, because they are natural.
Vyvanse I do not like really. Talk about staying up for days... I hate stimulants. I used to love Coke and MDMA, now I hardly even like either. MDMA is acceptable... But still I don't really like doing it ever. I'd rather take LSD, mushrooms, or K.
Vyvanse is helpful though, when it's needed, I like it better than aderall it doesn't seem to make me as nervous. But it lasts so damn long I have to take it at 7am in order to go to bed that night. Nothing to take every day, but like I said when it's needed.

It is very under-researched I can't really find TOO MUCH information on it, but if it is different than an actual stimulant I'll probably like it. I LOVE stimulating kratom strains. Because they are not stimulating, but they are. Smellin what I'm steppin in?

God I'm drunk. If I sound stupid, I sorry. lol

So basically a drug that makes you into a better human being all around. You will be more alert, work harder, read more and do all your chores. Sounds too good to be true! The side effect must be your balls fall off and your hair will catch fire.

That's precisely my thought process, but I'm prepared to try it out.

Not all the time. Apparently it's quite addicting so I will have to be careful. But my roomate is a lot more responsible than me, I can just have him lock it in his safe or something..
Perhaps some things are too good to be true?

as far as what ive seen so far it isn't addictive and had very minor side affects. and its given to soldiers? who knows. ill deff be trying it out when I can tho regardless. ive always liked the speed buzz so even if it does have affects like Adderall or meth or what have you, im sure ill survive lol.

I saw a movie where a guy used a drug like this and ever since wanted to try something like this out. (cant for the life of me remember the name of said movie lol)
