Gnats are a pain in the ass if thats what you have. You can use a pesticide to kill them off but they live in the top of your soil and you never get them all. What I do is hang up "no pest strips" and I also layer the top of my soil with store bought sand.

Yup bugstrips and sand. I had a bad gnat problem. but they're almost all gone now. They live and lay eggs on top of your soil. A layer of sand will smother them. I had to apply sand to most of my house plants. It does the trick though.

if youre not one of the purists,.. for the ones in the air, well they really dont have a very long life span, they will die and dry out undert the lights, as for the ones that may emerge from the soil later, get a sort of salt and pepper shaker and fill it with sevin dust, dust away

I have gotten rid of the little bastards with nicotine, (ie taking a cigarette and emptying the contents into a cup with about 4 ounces of water.

let sit an hour.

drain contents into spray bottle.

spray the soil and the plants if necessary.

the flies fucking HATE the nicotine.
menthol worked good too.

also fairly safe.
no visible damage or problems here.
