Small fan under the canopy?

Hello and thanks for looking,

This all started from not using any fans on lights off which gave me a humidity problem.

I now leave all fans on topwards the end of flowering ie: Exhaust, Inline, and fan blowing on top of buds.

I want to add a small little computer fan to blow under the canopy would this is a good idea the other fans are left on 24 hours now...I hate bud rot!

I'm going to be doing a scrog and is why i ask!

I like to use oscillating fans. I find if I have a fan blowing directly on a plant and not moving it gets wind burned. SO if you want to put a few small fans for circulation I think it a good idea just keep the air moving but not blowing on a plant unless it's an oscillating fan. Hope it helps out.

Mmm, yes so you think a fan under the canopy is ok but it really needs to be an oscillating one?

I think you may be right

speaking from experience, an oscillating fan will help, but I think you and I both just need to invest in a dehumidifier..... I saw your thread about the budrot, and I am plagued with that every time as well..... actually dealing with it now:sad:

Well i got bud rot because all my fans would go off on lights off, my humidity during the night period would rise to 84%

Perfect for bud rot i have always had to crop at 7 weeks.

Now with all fans on my humidity at night time is 53% last night and it was raining last night so i'm still very happy on a normal night it's down to 35-40%

I clean and trimmed under the canopy for better air movement i expect to both enjoy anf finish this crop to the full 8 weeks!

I don't need a de-humidifier i had a small one and it was crap it's now on ebay.....'' waste of time it was made no difference and i had it inside the tent!!!

I understand.... dont know where you're located, but down here in louisiana, we deal with ALOT of humidity all year.... 53% is lovely and rare here.... I run all my fans 24hrs a day, but still dont know if i'll be trying another indoor letdown this summer... its just not practical. :-|

Hey if you can afford a full size de-humidifier then it will work and get your humidity down no worries, i was just saying don't waste your time with the small baby one's etc...''

A dehumidifier would be a worthwhile investment for sure. But, I wanted to throw this out there also. I initially started using serenade to deal with a powdery mildew problem, and wound up taking my friend's advice and using it a couple of times per cycle as a preventative. I haven't seen any p. mildew since. I noticed that serenade (which is a bacteria) also eats gray mold (bud rot). So, I spray once around flip, and once around mid-flower time. The mold spores will lie dormant for many months, waiting for good conditions to start spreading again - so, stray spores from the previous run might be what starts it off again. I assume that the serenade will eat those, and at least give me a clean slate, and hopefully put the problem off somewhat.

If you try it, I'd recommend buying the serenade concentrate. I think you get like 64 times as much for 2X the price of the pre-mixed stuff.

Yes i've heard and read up on the stuff, yes it got positive results, I even purchased a product called Bud Rot stop etc which is designed to kill the spores of bud rot etc.

Basically always look for prevention rather than cure...''

I had a humidity problem, not really a bud rot problem..........I used bud rot stop once but since it's found it's way on ebay not too sure if it worked because i already had bud rot maybe it slowed it down abit? but spraying my buds just didn't feel right

Yeah, I know what you mean - I don't like spraying anything once there are any significant buds.
A dehumidifier is the best option. BTW, I got this one and am very happy with it:

I picked one up from ebay (new) for $168 + free shipping.

I'm looking into a dehumidifier, but that will have to wait for the finances

I don't think is has to be an oscillating fan for beneath the canopy. Just keep the air moving through like you were thinking it will help a great deal.

Good then maybe i will put a small computer fan blowing upwards should be good even move air moving around anything to keep that bud rot away!!
