Single plant drip system

I have always grown with DWC. I normally just grow one monster plant in a 3x3 SCROG and have had some pretty awesome results.

At my local grow shop, I was talking to the owner about recirculating drip systems and it definitely sounds like that method is less of a headache compared to DWC.

My question is, has anyone used a drip system to grow a monster plant? Most examples I see have a minimum of 4 plants in the setup. Due to state regs, I really would prefer to just veg 1 plant longer to fill the same space. I have also heard theories that the larger, more mature plants produce more product per sq/ft but I'm not sure if that is true or not.

My hydro shop sells and recommends the grow blocks for the drip system and I definitely like the idea of them, I'm just not sure how big the block needs to be since I am trying to grow some big plants.

Does anyone have any thoughts on if this is worth trying??

I prefer drain to waste systems as opposed to recirculating. What media are you planning? You can grow trees in coco with an auto-drip system.

I was thinking about doing the grow blocks. I just worry they are small and wouldn't let my roots grow big enough to have a big plant. I'm not 100% sure how they work, so I could be wrong.

Grow blocks = Rockwool cubes?

If so, you can grow a large plant in a 6" Hugo cube
8" Big Mama blocks are also available (2.4x volume of Hugo cube)
