Sickly Plants

Nirvana Northern Lights Autoflower. These are grown in soft pots with Miracle Grow Moisture Conrtrol.. Ya.. I know... Miracle Grow sux... When the spots started to appear, I thought it might be a ph problem... no ph tester.. guess I should get one.... so added garden lime.... also added epsom salts. Using miracle grow 10-10-10 ferts sparingly. The AK-48, White Castle, and Wonder Woman did not get this way in the same grow. I did manage 0.5oz each off of the 2 N.L. plants. A pair of 400w MH/HPS lights. 4 Weeks 20/4 then 13/11 for 8 1/2 weeks. What is causing the dead spots? How would you fix it so it wouldn't happen again.

Well I certainly don't know for sure but I see some signs of heat stress in the upturned tips. I'd have to say there is another issue as well and I would start by ruling out any pest damage. It sort of looks like a few little maggot pupa thingys on the back of the leaf in the upper left hand corner but kinda blurry.

If your MG has time release nutes in it, I would just water as needed. It seems that over-watering is something to especially avoid with time release nutes. There are plenty of folks that grow in MG and get results they really like.

nothing wrong with miracle grow. use organic so that the nutes regulate themselves. my guess from your photo is nute burn / heat burn / ph problem from the brown curled up leaf tips.
