Hi Jamie2018!View attachment 4108168 Hi im very new to all this and this is my first grow, I've got 5 auto big bangs under 600w hps ,32 inch away from top of plants, got a computer fan on high in the tent to circulate the air and 2 vents open at bottom. The leaves are curling up. Any ideas what this could be? I've been reading up on other threads and I think it could be root rot?

Some look stressed, one looks pretty good, might just be able to handle the heat better than the others. All 5
250 is still a little high, but I think 250w cfl will be more gentle... I have 4 plants in a 36x36” tent and have been vegging w a 125w cfl veg light @8-10 inches for about 2 wks. In about another 2 wks I’ll start hitting them w my Timber 400w 4VS. I had my Timber on w the potentiometer turned all the way down (along w the veg cfl light). I started noticing the edges slightly curling in, so I cut off the timber and am just going straight cfl for now. Good luck. Can I pop a 250w in??
Just because you do, doesn't mean its a good practice. Why burn 600w over a veg cycle when you can easily get away with 100 watts of CFL with better results? If you insist on HID for such a small amount of plants.....consider 250W MH bulb. to start. OR what mickey oneil is suggesting is also a great option. You really probably need a bigger fan to more quickly replace the air in your space. The intensity of the light is not the issue as I sprout and veg seedlings under 600W hps myself, but I have a 6 inch duct fan bringing fresh cool air into the tent. If your temps are over 90 degrees its no bueno for most strains.
I should have elaborated. my bad. I completely agree with Sgt. Sly as well in this case that its a waste of energy. But for myself the effort to swap lights doesn't outweigh the losses. I may consider swapping with the MH bulb but I'm also running 12/12 year round.Just because you do, doesn't mean its a good practice.
