Sick Plant

I noticed all my plants have a touch amount of yellow at the very tips of all leaves. Not on the outer perimeter. The very tip as if i would be trying to poke you with the leaf. Then I noticed where the tips where a touch yellow on the older growth the outer edges are now turning brown and the oldest leaves at the very bottom are slowly dying. Can't do pics now not home. But can anyone guess at my problem. The problem is described exactly like it is. Someone please share some brain.

tell us more about your plants, and especially about their root medium and food given recently.

from what u say its : a def or a overfed , a bug eating roots , a water problem , a soil problem ( thats what i would suspect 1st ) or maybe something else ...

Thats a pretty good description of a very basic problem. I can pretty safely suggest without seeing your plant your experiencing nute burn. Your last feeding or soil mix was too strong for your plant. How overboard, I cannot tell. The best solution is to cut out its primary food source until it has used up some of the nutrients available to it.

i would like to add to this reply, a flush of good clean plain ph corrected water will do your plants good and remove any nutrient build up that may be and most likely is present in your medium. Then after the initial flush i would water only with the same ph corrected water with a small amount of superthrive added. Superthrive is a product that relieves plant stress and helps them get back on track. If i may ask, what type of soil/ nutrients are you currently using?

Great advice.. Also depending on what exact color the tips are you could have a deficiency. May be burn tho but if it is just the tips and there are no leaves turning it could be a Magnesium issue. I would flush with a solution ( I like h202 and clearex is what I use ) then wait a while like Dan said until even maybe there is a tad yellow in the leaves then feed again if there is still issues when not using nutes it may just be a deficiency. Most of the time it is a burn. if it is just the tips nothing more though with no leaf turning down or upside down it may just be a deficiency. Post some pics that would REALLY help me get you a solution. Also superthrive is great I use it in foliar feed and it makes a huge difference.

That is kind of a wide range of issues. I would have to say I would rule out bugs right away. If your using tap water especially that will not be good in long term and that may be the issue but unsure so POST SOME PICS :P... so much Chlorine in water and calcium that can build up real fast in soil.

Kinda agree with ya'll, but the burn might be because of the soil mix too. Also, your tips can brown if the plant gets too hot or dehydrated.

funny how much advice is given without the slightest clue of the guy's actual problem :)

What? Didn't he say what the problem was? A little yellow on the tips on the leaves? I do not know about you but that is knowing the problem the leaf tips are yellow, and that can only be a couple things soooooooo what are you talking about? I do not know how he could be more descriptive without taking a pic... The tips are turning yellow. Maybe you missed that sentence. Also this was in his statement
"I cant take pics because I am not at home " "But can anyone guess at my problem"
which is what people are doing to try and help him. We are just giving him what he asked for and maybe you should re-read it a little slower then asaph.

So you suggest to just water with plain PhD water for a week or so

well no i didn't mean that as a bad thing. trying to help is also good. and yes he gave a description but what I was saying is that pics are required to actually know what the problem is, yellow tips can be more than a couple of things, and i for one actually think its a deficiency or lockout and not burn. besides, i think 90% of these problems are caused by pH.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh........no not the ph police again.....OP was kinda vague but he should try everything else before adding insult to injury. But what do I know, I'm just a humble gardener.

im having the same problem, im not sure what it is? Does your plant look anything like mine?
see guys that's what i'm talking about. This isn't nute burn. This is either nutrient lockout (most likely from pH but could be from over-abundance of some element), or a deficiency (less likely in soil for plant size vs. container). I think N def. Flush your soil with pH 6.5 (if this is soil), and start feeding low amounts of wide-spectrum veg fertilizer (one that has npk + micro elements), and increase with time.
