Should I super crop my outdoor plants?

I have a few outdoor seedlings about ready to go out and I was wondering if Super cropping would help outdoor plants. I have read a couple forums saying that super cropping isn't necessary for outdoor plants mainly because sunlight is so powerful. I have seen some videos on YouTube showing how to super crop, one of them was for outdoor plants but didn't really mention if the yield was better. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm growing Arjan's haze #1, The Church, Mango, and Bubba Kush

the reason that most people suppercrop is because of height restrictions more than anything else.. although when you supercrop, the plant redistributes its auxins like it would if you were to top or fim it.. what this in turn does is makes the side branches grow more like they would if they were a top cola..
damn.. now you got me thinking if this will give you a better yeild or not.. hmmm, good ?, lol..
now i wanna hear what others have to say about this one.. im gonna give you some rep just cuz i think this is a really good ? m8..

Im not real up on super croping but i do a stair case crop with my out door plants. I know every one says not to cut fan leaves because they store energy well if your out doors then the sun gives your plants more than enough. I start at the bottom and i trim one fan leaf from every node in a spiral pattern up the plant. if the plant has been toped then i stop where its been toped and then just take off a few random fan leaves above to help get light down to the lower nodes. funny you ask this now because i just trimed mine today.

i had grown out some sour cream from dna a few grows ago and do to some problems that i had in veg, i didn't get to flower them as soon as i would have liked to.. so i went to the boards and asked for advice when i started to run out of vertical room.. everyone told me to simply supercrop them.. so i went over to youtube and watched a few videos on what to do.. now, i have to admit that i was way beyond nervous about doing this to my perfectly healthy plant after i had fought so hard to get it healthy in the first place.. well, i did the sc right at lights on, and when i woke up the next morning, the buds that had been laying at a 90 angle just 12 hours before, were now standing straight up at the lights.. i couldn't believe how quickly this had happened, and it really didn't seem to stress her out too much at all..
saying all of this though, i have no clue as it wheter it increased my yeild or not as i had only one sour cream plant and nothing to compare it to..

I've used Supercropping successfully, but much prefer LST.

Think of your plant at high noon with the sun directly overhead.

If you increase the size of your plant's shadow, your yield will increase as well.

A tall plant shades much of its own leaves throughout the day.

By spreading the branches out you reduce the shading, giving your plant more direct sunlight, throughout the day.

An early start at LST reduces or eliminates the need for Supercropping.

racerboy71 - hahaha i remember watching a video on super cropping and it scared the shit out of me the way the guy just snapped the necks of like 6 branches on one plant. How did your sour cream turn out? as far as taste, yield, potency. I am supposed to get a free fem. sour cream with the Arjan's Haze #1 and 2 others rocklock and sharks breath, I was thinking I'd just give them to my friend, but that sour cream seemed quite lovely being 80% sativa..

And thats a very interesting analogy veggie I like it. Last year was my first grow unfortunately i had to get rid of my plants before they flowered, but i actually did some LST and seemed to make the bottom branches way bigger. Sounds good though, just make sure the bottom branches aren't too shaded and wah-lah more light.

the sour cream was pretty dank for sure.. i got a lil over two ounces under one 250 watt hps.. i had that along with two mk ultras as well.. the taste and smell were kinda odd.. hard to describe really.. it had a kinda sour smell to her nugs, unlike anything else i have ever smelled or smoked.. but after i put it into my grinder, the haze smell really came out.. and how i love my hazes.. i think i let her go for 13 weeks if memory serves me right.. the high was lovely.. well balanced between sativa and indica.. at first you got that sativa head high and buzz, but after awhile the high kinda mellowed out some, but not too mellow, very nice..
like i said though, i had some kinda deficiency in veg that i was trying to get worked out before i flowered her, and she turned into a monster of almost six feet tall i think.. maybe closer to five or so, but still pretty big..
lemme see if i can find any pix of her or her buds and i'll post them for ya..

Awesome. I really do like the sativa's. I have an Arjan's Haze #1 seed coming tomorrow, something like 1,500 gram yield at max. Thats the most I've heard of so far. Cant wait till that gets harvested. And as far as the hi-jacking no worries, i got jacked 6 ounces of green crack once at gun point. You just took a hit off the blunt, not all of it.

ima super crop that monster tommor and i got a cali indica thats not far behind 5 or so ft maybe a lil more,

my vote is to super crop, cause youll have more main collas which means bigger single buds if your selling, now if your smoking id still super crop cause it increases yeild and light penatration,air to...

man, does that heri x choco chunk sound like some fire.. my heri looked like it was gonna yeild pretty good, but after i dried the buds, i really lost a lot of weight .. i think it was the most of any plant that i've dried so far... the smoke was pretty nice though, although i still preffered my mk ultra from thseeds over the heri..

I'm an outdoor grower and never felt any need to supercrop or lst.
