Flowering Time: On both mediums it is suggested to flower (12 hour light) the White Widow for 8 weeks, but 10 weeks will really give you the crystals you are after. We suggest the final 2 weeks of the flowering cycle to turn the lights off altogether - or at least down to 8 hours. This keeps the flowers from regrowth and stresses the plant into giving up its last drop of goodness as crystal to protect the flower. I JUST FOUND OUT IM GROWING WHITE WIDOW BUT I JUST PLANTED 2 1/2 WKS AGO. SHOULD I FOLLOW THIS GUIDE LINE OR IS IT FALSE

nope. dont do it. maybe turn lights off for 24 hours before you induce flowering but never keep your light off for 2 weeks.

Um..for the last 2-3 days of loswering..leave lights off.This stresses the plant,and tricks it into thikning its dying soon..thin in turn will force resin production,in order to ctach pollen

i was told pretty much the same thing from a relative growing expert.. as far as tricking the plant into thinking its dying via darkness..

please correct me if i am wrong cause i as well am in search of the truth..

umm. i think he means 2-3 days of darkness right before you harvest...and i know for sure he isnt talking about anything to do with vegetative growth...

like i said earlier im in week 5 of flowering and i think im gonna end about week 9. so i should leave in complete darkness is what your sayin? for 2-3 days also i know damn well they wasnt talkin about veg state that just dont sound right lol

i wish i had an answer for you stillhigh! im hoping someone with some experience can fill us in...i just knew that what aj420 said was way off....i dont know weather that method will work or not. i know theres people around here who have done it!!

2-3 days of darkness before final harvest does trick the plant into thinkin it is dying so it puts every last bit of strength into the crystals/resin production. anything over 2-3 days of pure dark like the 2 weeks they suggest would not be a good thing imo. i have known people who tried the 2-3 days of dark several times and seems to help. i know for sure it didnt do any harm at all.. the stuff i have seen after doing the 2-3 days darkness is better than anything i have ever seen. i would recommend at minimum 24 hours of darkness before harvest, 2-3 days would though make the plant think more on the lines of it is at its end.

I'm growing white russians and that was exactly what I was told from the breeder... to isolate it in complete darkness for 48hrs before harvest and she'll throw all she's got left for my smoking pleasure!

Yes..Ie been spreading the method to anyone who would listen..it works.What it does is send a messgae that the plat is about to die,or is nearing the end of its life cycle.This makes the plant increase resi in order to do one of 2 things...

1."Catch"any pollen that falls on it...in order to make seeds and propagate and continue its mission which is to spread its seeds...

2.Protect any seeds it might have already frmed from the suns harmful rays...

Keep plants in totsl darknees for the last 2-3 days in flowering..

well im in wk6 and in 3wks im gonna shutdown and take ya advice on 48hrs of darkness and if it dont wrk im commin to find all ya lol but really i was told the same 48hr thing too so if shit dont seem right in 24 hrs i can always start trimming process right?
