I just wanted to know if it was ok to give nutes when the plant is 1 week? I put a tablespoon of each of the nutes (in the pictures) in my res. 2 days later and this is how the plant looks now. Is that a good thing?(looks way better to me) The plant formulas are 10-10-10 -VIGORO and 0-5-4 Flora Bloom. Should I continue to do this weekly every time I change my res? Sorry for all the questions but this is my first hydro expirement and im kind of freestyling it. Thanks

very very very very very VERY small amount if you want too, as long as you have a few leaves above the first round ones (when it first started growing)it will eat food.

But go extremely light at first and THAN adjust up to the plants needs as it continues to grow.

Are those glass beads as your medium? You definatly want to swap that for something the wont promote algea growth or supply light to the roots(maybe hydroton).

good luck.

thanks for the advice. Yes that is marbles as my medium, this was actually just a home project I decided to try with things I had laying around the house. The only things I really bought was some tubing, an airstone, a thermometer, and a ph tester. Where can I order some Hydroton?

You dont need any type of hydro medium you need some good soil, a small pot, and an old plate to set it all on.
Since you are not using hydroponic nutrients or a hydroponic system and you are using soil based plant nutrients be very careful and maybe only give em a tiny tiny amount of what they recomend on the back, never give em full strength.

Maybe get some different organic based nutrients after its potted.

Save the flora bloom for a hydro system down the road. ANd dont use this in soil it is WAY too strong(it is a concetrated water soluble nutrient for circulating systems for flowering )

Easiest way to get real good dirt is to dig some up, throw it a big pot half full of water and boil till mud is boiling, slowly pour slurry into clay pot and let cool
(just disinfected the dirt and killed 98% of the organisms in it)
After cleaned soil is cool and somewhat dry transplant yer plants and only water with a little feed solution carefully mixed at half the recommendation)when dirt is almost dry.
Maybe keep near a window for sun.

Ok im a little confused you said airstone , PH kit, and tubing --do you have a system or are they just sitting in plastic cups with marbles?

Im now thinking u built a areponic thingy with plastic cups and marbles and are trying to feed it with regular plant food.

If you are using a system there is a ton of info on this site to help you get started correctly. just search on front home page and youll tons of folks with different types of systems.

General hydro's website says that you can use their products (flora bloom) in soil....where do you get that it's only for circulating systems????

Here's some advice....stop growing if you can't afford anything. The expenses only go up. But in all seriousness you should just get a brick of coco coir...its only a few bucks at any hydro store.

LOL I thought he was growing in plastic cups with marbles and feeding it bloom. LOL
I need to lay off the grass.
I think you might only need to change your medium, something that won't light down into the roots and I would'nt feed it just bloom . There should be a veg stage formula u can use lighly.

Umm, yeah manufactures say you can do alot of things, remeber they make money off selling more product, I definatley would'nt use my hydro nutes in soil, they are not really designed to intaked by a plant like this. And plus its expensive.

If it was mine
1 change cups to little pots with 1/4 inch holes drilled everywhere, bottom and sides.
2 find some good clean gravel outside, or get some hydroton or perlite at local garden center.
3 Aquire a small amount of nutrients-you will need micro-grow-and Bloom(which you already have)

PH water(plant wont take any nutes or water in unless it is at proper PH, add nutes at 1/4 strength recommendation(your plant is small).

What type of light do you have over it? flourescent= move to with in 1-2 inches HID=18-24 inches and watch for burning.

For veg it needs 18 -24 hrs of daylight or light
To grow its buds it needs to be 12 hrs of light.

Im using a 100watt CFL. My plant is growing pretty nicely. It doubled in size every day. I just ordered some Hydroton and it comes with netted pots. Here are some pictures taken today.

Sweet!!!! your on your way, be sure and rinse your hydroton before you puit it in your sys.(clay residue)

You can usually put flourescents very close to the plant tops cause they run cool.

email468 provided you with some great info on feeding so I think your set.
