Currently just started week 11 flower calyx have swelled on most buds and trichomes are milky with some amber. Should I chop them or wait a little longer. ?
They are ready. It all depends on the high you want more amber is a body high/couch lock and more milky is a head high/energetic high. If it were me I would chop her.Currently just started week 11 flower calyx have swelled on most buds and trichomes are milky with some amber. Should I chop them or wait a little longer. ?
That was my plan but wanted another opinion they smell amazing.I’d let them go another week at least personally
The smoke was great however I did wait around 4-5 days you will notice the pistils receding Into the calyx then they will swell a little more you have any pictures ?How did your smoke turn out???
I’m in the same boat right now. I have started harvesting little pieces, drying, and smoking to test the high. We will have to make adjustments in harvest time during the next grow.
I’ve generally gotten the sense fox-tailing is something viewed as a negative but don’t get why. Is it just an aesthetic thing or is the bud less potent or something? I actually think that fox-tailing looks kinda cool, tho I get it’s a signal of stress. By itself, though — aside from being a stress symptom — what’s wrong with it?Still a week or 2 I would say with the white pistils still showing also you have some heavy foxtailing going in there what's your room conditions like
The stress that initiated the fox tailing was the 95 F temperatures in my grow tent. I installed a window unit and got the temperature down to 84 F which is still not ideal. Also, I had spider mites of which I started out with Spinosad which does not work at all. I had to get Azamax to kill them. And yet, there are still some spider mites... but not an infestation of them. The suffocating, low self-awareness high could be a result of these stresses and the foxtailing, or it could be the fact that I am smoking way too much for the first time in a couple of years.I’ve generally gotten the sense fox-tailing is something viewed as a negative but don’t get why. Absolutely nothing to be honest just a sign that your room is either too warm or too close to the lights I believe the only thing I suggest with foxtails is not to judge your finish on these as I believe these are less mature than the buds themselves.I’ve generally gotten the sense fox-tailing is something viewed as a negative but don’t get why. More than likely smoking too much lol what I would suggest is to slowly dry your buds dont rush them to try your crop as this will ruin the aroma and taste and most probably the strength of the high I prefer to wait untill last minute to harvest and prefer to harvest the whole crop at the same time give them a nice slow dry and after around 5-6 days your smaller bottom buds should be dry enough to taste in my opinion (everyone has diffrent opinions) always go by the trichomes I like to see around 15-20% amber and the rest milky if you have clear still leave them a few more days but I cant stress enough not to check the foxtails I prefer to check the lower buds. Hope this helps and have a happy harvest I know I do every crop I love harvest time ...The stress that initiated the fox tailing was the 95 F temperatures in my grow tent.
