I have 2 four foot fluorescent lights and I am new grower. I considering getting a 400 watt HPS light to replace the fluorescents after maybe two weeks in. The only problem is I'm working in basement and circulation is VERY limited. Is it essential to have ventilation with HPS? Are their any easy ways to ventilate?Any other things I will need?thanks

dont need ventilation with HPS i dont think, i would split the room into two set up one side so you use the FL for mothers and clones and the other side for flowering using your HPS :), its easy to circulate the air in the room, buy a couple of osilating fans for the mother and clone room and also the flowering room... make a way of pumping fresh air in and out of the room. E.g. is there a breather brick in your basement... what are the walls like in your basement are they concrete?

buy a fan they work you dont need a big hps light I use a 400w and a cfl with a 30inch fan in a closet works fine

You need ventilation, if you aren't growing in a closet or something then a oscillating fan on ther plants will be enough. if you are growing in box or a very small room you are going to need intake and exhaust fans plus osc fans.

if you plan on doing it for awhile i would suggest in investing in some better fans than oscilateing ones. get the cage fans that suck air out
