Setup advice

I have a limited budget and an even smaller grow space! All I want to do is grow about 3 plants, I am going to be using CFL's and I would love someone to give me some pointers on how to make a small but useable grow box. I have no closet so it'll be in my room.

Can ANYBODY give me some pointers on what to use, how to mount the slights so I can raise them as they grow, and pics of your extra small setups.

Thanks for replying. Well, I would like to grow 3 plants, so if one dosent turn female, take out the males, and plant new seeds.

I am thinking of using one of those rubbermaid draweres set, heres the measurements 1 foot 11'' inches wide, 1 foot 2 inches deep 1 foot 11 inches tall.
About how many lights to i need? I am going with CFL's but I am gonna try and put a couple 15'' floro tubes on the top, and get small spirial CFL's and have them all around the plants because I found out that you get more light from the sides rather them fscing the plant.

That bin is not nearly big enough to grow in. Find a more suitable spot to grow before you start considering lighting

What about those computer grow cases. I grew a plant a little bigger than 1 foot. I What would be good to use

My bad dude but most people who do a CPU grow are doing it because they are hiding from their parents. I wouldn't go that route man, your harvest will be so small that it wouldn't even be worth it. Is there anyway that you could build your own box outta wood? That is what I did and it worked great

What measurements? You are going to need a lot more room than 1 foot heighth

I have a stereo cabinet I could use it's 16 inches deep, 16 inches wide and 2 feet 8 inches tall.What if I just got a sun systems 125 watt hps with the ballast built in the reflector? Would that be good enough over 3 plants in soil hangine from a pole in a closet with no doors and I will probably get A black sheet and cover it with foil and hanging it up so the light isint all obvious. . . I once had a 2 4 foot floro tubes in the same space and you could see that light outside the house even in the day if you looked at the wandow thats close to it.

But I heard hps uses ALOT of power? If I were to do CFL, What would be the best way to do it? I have noticed that adding stuff up for cfl, it's almost the same price of the hps I showed you.

You are going to need more than 2 feet 8 inches in height dude

32" is plenty of height. You will have to do some heavy LST, as well as grow indica dominant strains, but that speaker cabinet will work fine. A guy on riu harvested an ounce out of his computer case growbox thing. Its in the grow journals. Get cfls. probably about 8 26w cfls will get the job done in there, 4 on the top 4 corners, and 4 in the corners like in the middle of the box for side lighting. You could throw some floro tubes up top in the middle if you really wanna get it going. With cfls, the bigger you go the more heat it will produce plus the more space it takes up in your already small space. I liek the 26w ones because you can put them all over and your plant will produce nice lower buds, since you arent really working for one main cola. I think you should use that speaker box for sure

He would need to grow in a pot that is like 2 inches tall to be able to grow a plant in there

I think you might have misread my post dude. You can experience light bleaching from HPS. That would never happen with CFL's. There is no way that this guy can grow in the space he is saying. The guy you linked has been growing for a while and has a method to growing in there. Next time you try proving someone wrong you should probably read the posts beforehand

what is your budget? i set up a little home grow in my closet for under 50 bucks. i used just like a box 2 feet wide about 3 and a half feet. slit one side of the box right in the middle for doors. cut out a whole in the back for a fan. dunno if you just have a little fan around the house. for your three plants i would use like 4 26w cfl screw in bulbs. not going to be all that great of a light set up. over time just save 5 bucks here and there. buy 2 more bulbs.( pack of two is about 10 dollars tops) get 2 light socket screw in for your screw in cfl. get one Y light bulb splitter.( find them for under 2 bucks a piece) and about your lights needing to be raised i dunno how you could do that. got like a shelf you could put above it. put pics up of where you are growin at. hope i helped out

tom if youre suggesting i was trying to argue with you, i wasnt. The reason I posted that was to show the OP a good suggestion for something he might have space for. It was completely unrelated to anything you said, if anything, it was agreeing with you.
